Product Details

Our slimmest fit yet, for guys who like their jeans slim, not skinny. For our denim fabric we went to the Kaihara mill, one of Japan's oldest and most renowned denim producers. This wash replicates a once-washed pair, which is great for the guy who likes the dark denim look but not the whole idea of rigid jeans. Go behind the design of our denim washes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The New 484's I bought my first pair of 484's several years ago and still love them. I decided it was time to buy a second pair and after reading the latest reviews about how they are slimmer fitting I went to a store to try them on. Alas, it's true, the 484's are cut differently now. They are definitely slimmer around the leg and more tapered at the bottom. But, I think they look and feel great. They are slimmer but not skinny. I think they give me a flattering long and lean look. I am 5'11 175 lb and my usual 34/32 sizing was just right. I can wear them with nice sneakers and they fit over my lace up boots as well. I wanted a nice dark pair of jeans, but didn't want to mess with the care or time needed for raw or selvedge denim, so these are a great compromise. I do wish they still sold the old style of 484's, but I think these are worth adding to your denim collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improvement on an already great product The old 484's were great but this version is even better. Slim/on-trend without being too skinny/trendy. The feel is more rigid (and slimmer) than the old crinkle resin but not uncomfortable. A perfect choice for high-end, versatile, solid denim without jumping to selvedge or dealing with raw denim. I have and love many 484 jeans and pants but this is the first time I was compelled to review.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from New fit ruined it for me Don't know why jcrew had to mess with a good thing. I've bought dozens of pairs of jeans & chinos in 484 fit - it used to be THE fit for me until this change. The fit is too tight in all the wrong places and no I have not gained or lost any weight. Well too bad

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beware: More Slim than Before I bought a pair of 484's a little over a year ago and found them to be the perfect fitting jeans. I purchased this pair recently and found them to be cut even more slim fitting than my current ones. Upon measuring the various components, I found that they are cutting them a little slimmer, which I guess is fine, but why mess with a good thing? Sometimes J.Crew needs to know when to stop tinkering with their designs. There was no need to mess with the fit of these jeans. The construction and overall quality of the fabric are still excellent. Hopefully they'll stretch out and fit more comfortably after wearing them for a few months.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from almost perfect I own a pair of the 484 dark worn wash in 33x34 and they fit perfectly, albeit with the waist being a tad large. Still, ordered this pair in 33x34 and am surprised at the disparity in waist sizes. This one is tighter in the waist than any other 33 jean I own. Despite that, the jean is well constructed and made of an exceptional Japanese cotton denim. They're rigid though, something I didn't expect, so they'll take some time to break in. But once you do, you'll love these.
