Ribbed cashmere beanie

Perfect for a trip to NYC in freezing January weather.

I completed chemo about 10 mo ago a reviewed this hat about 2 mo ago. I referred to it as a cashmere top hat that just kinda stood upright without much slouch. After wearing it a few months, it has developed a little slouch and thankfully looks less like a “conehead” (though it’s pretty funny for the first few weeks when breaking in). I previously commented that I wore the men’s beanie during my hair loss period and the first 5-6 mo of hair regrowth. The men’s fit is really great for that period. I’m happy to share that the women’s fit is better than I initially thought. With chemo curls and a crazy 3”pixie/mullet/afro, the excess space in the women’s hat has actually been really great. Love that it drapes a little longer down the nape of my neck and around my ears to cover my unruly hair. Just bought an additional women’s one. Highly recommend playing around with either the men’s or women’s if you’re going through hair loss. They are so warm, soft, high quality (minimal pulling despite heavy wear). These beanies have been a great comfort and I anticipate I will continue wearing them even after my hair is back to normal.

This year's beanie is small, unless JCrew made a mistake and sent me a child's size. I have about 20 of these, collected through the years. I purchased brown, and it is short. I can not even make a nice fold like in the picture. Not like my other beanies from years before.

I bought this last month on a whim on a cold day when I had forgotten my beanie at home. This is hands down the best beanie every since I lost my United Coors of Benetton beanie a few years ago. I love the light blue color of this beanie. It fits great and keeps my head nice and warm on the coldest days. Next winter, I will invest in at least one more. Definitely a must have winter accessorie!
