Collection maxi skirt in tartan

Collection maxi skirt in tartan is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun Holiday Skirt So I got this and there was a lot of mixed reviews on the fabric and length. First off the Fabric didn't bother me at all I think it has a nice heaviness about it but didn't feel cheap to be I think a wool skirt would have been to light and would not have fallen correctly. The length, well I am 5'4 and pretty much have to get all pants and long skirts shortened so this is no exception except they will have to cut off a lot of fabric. Fit, I thought it rain a little on the small side in the waist. I could have sized up to be more comfortable but now they are sold out. So I will find a way to squeeze into it. I like the style though I think it could be dressed up or casual with Boots and just think it is different.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great statement skirt - dye transfer from lining I love this theory. Yes, it is polyester, but the weight is really nice and the fullness definitely gives it the ability to be dressed up, or down. I am 5'9", and with 3 inch heels, it skimmed the ground, but I hate when maxi skirts are too short on me, so no complaints about length here. My only gripe, is after wearing it yesterday, the lining transferred dark color to my favorite brown booties. There was no rain, or moisture, to allow this to happen, so it was purely just from grazing my shoes. Hopefully I can get the transfer off with a suede brush or leather cleaning kit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful cut, but horrible length and fabric The cut of this skirt (high waist, a line) is really gorgeous. That said, as others have stated, I would have liked to see more wool here and the length is just insane! I'm 5'9" and even with high heels, I have inches of fabric on the floor. I'm still thinking about whether or not to keep it but will probably just have it hemmed because I find the design to be so unique and I'm in a tartan phase (I think it's pretty classic and I plan on pulling this out a lot this winter and into early spring).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not made for petite people.... No problem with the materials; wool with enough polyester so it hangs well. However, yet again J.Crew have assumed that most women are over 5'8". I am 5'1 and although I could get this skirt altered to better reflect my height, the amount of cloth that would have to be cut would drastically change the shape and style of the skirt! As a long-standing J.Crew card holder, I am pretty disgusted with the Collection policies; don't bother with petite sizes because the customer can just get the length altered. Of course, but since the style drastically changes, we will be getting a different skirt altogether. I understand that the skirt is supposed to be long with a train-like hem but this really is ridiculous. The skirt is true to size in every way for tall about the petite gals?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ROUGH Fabric This maxi skirt is 55% polyester, 45% wool, lined in polyester. Why is a collection item leading with polyester? The fabric is very rough!!! It is definitely not worth full price. I know that most would limit this to November/December for the holidays. However, I would wear this in January and February as well. There are so many styling possibilities. It runs TTS. You could also size down 1 size due to the fullness of the skirt. I'm 5'4" and this skirt drags the ground by several inches. A 3" heel makes the length more manageable. I like it; but..... I am on the fence about keeping this due to the quality of the fabric. Had this been 100% wool, there would be no issue.
