You asked, we listened: We kept hearing that our cashmere was pilling too easily (because we wanted it supersoft, it was knit more loosely), so we decided to make a change... This new style has been knit more tightly, so it should pill less. The tradeoff is that it might not feel as soft at first, but just give it time. P.S. Hand-washing your cashmere is the way to go, just trust us on that.

Italian cashmere zip-front hoodie

Italian cashmere zip-front hoodie is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from mine has a two way zip - BEST. HOODIE. EVER! I've had three of these. Black, Grey and Lilac. All have the two way zip and I absolutely love them all! Debating grabbing the heathered camel colour now.... The two way sip is the bomb and the hood is large enough that I don't feel awkward wearing it up :) sleeves are long enough that I often fold them back 2 inches which is a nice alternative. Super soft and just plain awesome. Fit is reliable to your typical size but the knit does stretch out between cleanings for me...pockets are small but that is a low priority feature for me.. .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy, warm, quality hoodie Wasn't sure which size to get, so I ordered a S and M. By the size chart, I am a size small. Actual stats: Almost 5'5" ~120 pounds, 34B chest, ruler/straight body type, long arms. There's not a huge difference between the 2 sizes, but I decided to keep the small because I liked the streamlined fit. Not tight, still comfortable over a t-shirt or silk button-up. The medium was looser, a little baggy, more of a casual/slouchy fit. I'm happy that the hood is a generous size and actually functional. The fabric is thick and sturdy - reminds me of lambswool sweaters but softer. It's not fuzzy or light/delicate feeling like some cashmere. It did feel a tad itchy on my arms at first, but it quickly faded. I knocked one star off for the price, but it will be worth the cost if it holds up nicely and lasts many years. Overall I am happy with this piece, it fits in nicely with my neutral/minimalist wardrobe. Maybe I'll save up and buy the grey or black next year!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed in the quality... I was so excited to receive this sweater in the mail about a month and a half ago but after just a couple wears the sweater started to pill and I recently noticed the sleeve seam separating. This isn't the first item from J.Crew as of late that I have had quality problems with and was hoping that this sweater would be different. Unfortunately, once again the quality is not up to par with the price. I would not recommend purchasing and I am hoping that J.Crew goes back to making higher quality products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Layering Piece This cashmere hoodie is absolutely dreamy. The weight of it is not too thin, not too thick, and it is oh so soft. It will be the perfect layering piece for fall and winter travel. It fits very true to size, so if you're hoping to be able to layer and not have it completely form fitting, order up a size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Decrease in Quality The zip-front cardigan I received (burgundy color) is a huge disappointment-- and I have what I thought was the same one, in a different color, from three years ago. That hoodie was/is so soft and cuddly and has the awesome two-way zipper. This one, the cashmere is scratchy. (Who ever heard of scratchy!) Also, the cut of the pockets seems somewhat different, less flattering. The zipper is only one way. and it sticks. The color is very flat, far less jewel-toned than past burgundy purchases. It fits true to size. I am 5'4" and 132 pounds and wear a small. What a disappointment.
