Rivington car coat in wool

I looked at lots of different models of car coat but kept coming back to the Rivington. It’s very well-constructed and warm enough for NYC winters with appropriate layering. I would have liked hand warmer pockets, but other than that it’s a winner. I usually wear XL but I can fit into a L. Great find.

Love this coat. I always get a ton of compliments whenever I wear it. Don't think twice, just buy it and rock the big coat.

I bought this coat for my husband. He loves it! It is such a classic coat that you won't be disappointed. It has great material, fit, and color. It looks better in person.

Recently bought this car coat, which I think is more accurately described as a balmacaan. I typically wear a size 40 coat and after getting a medium, I think the size is just right for layering. There is a detachable throat clasp buttoned within the coat, and the bottom back of the coat can be buttoned at the bottom if needed. The cost does have insulation, and I don’t think this was mentioned in the description online. I like the glen check wool fabric. While it isn’t tweed, I appreciate that it’s pure wool and not a blend.

Very roomy, but not crazy oversized. I bought an XS and it fits great on me (5'5", 34 chest). It's 100% wool and very well made. It's lined with primaloft, which pleasantly surprised me. Despite the lining, it's not at all bulky. The raglan sleeves are wonderful. It drapes over your shoulders, so regardless of your shoulder slope or shoulder width, there won't be any shoulder "divots". There's a removable throat latch that can be stored in the opening hem of the coat via a button (a clever way to store it when not in use at the collar). My only critique would be that I wish there was an option for this to come in a S/short length. On my 5'5" frame, the coat goes down to just above my calves, which is still an acceptable length for a Balmacaan coat, albeit on the longer side. I would also love to see the pockets lined with something soft instead of just regular linen. Despite that, this is a very solid coat.

Really comfortable and warm without being too much.
