Rated 2 out of 5 by Drew Beautiful to look at, Quality Control is so-so
I ended up getting two pairs, and returning both.
The first pair of shoes arrived with many scuff marks, which are unacceptable, so I returned them.
The shaft of the right shoe on the second pair was sown on incorrectly- it was nearly half an inch higher on one side, and inversely half an inch lower on the other, which made it extremely uncomfortable and ill-fitting.
Basically- the shoes are incredibly pretty, the leather is a rich reddish-brown/oxblood that is marvelous, but the quality control is lacking. Buy at your own risk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jonathan Perfect boots, excellent quality
I just received these as an early Christmas gift this year. They are perfectly well made and feature the exact same fit and quality of my other Chippewa boots. The cordovan like bordeaux color is very nice. I'm not sure about any quality issues the other reviewers had, but the pair I received is flawless. I would normally have bought the version from Chippewa, but I like J.Crew's variation on the sole color and eyelet colors.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Zach Disappointing Quality
I was looking for a new pair of winter boots, and narrowed it down to these and the Wallace & Barnes Byrd boots. I wish I had chosen the latter.
After returning my first pair (which came with multiple scratches), I received and began wearing my second pair just a few weeks ago. With no obvious issues at first, I assumed that I had avoided the quality issues that the other reviewers have experienced. To my disappointment, however, it took only a few days for one of the boots to begin creasing terribly, giving it an almost wrinkled look. Interestingly, only one of the boots has this problem, which suggests that every boot is made with different quality leather.
If these were half the price, I would be fairly happy with the purchase. These boots are very warm and fairly comfortable. For the price I paid, though, I expected a lot more out of these. Should have gone for the Byrds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Stephen Years of quality.
After five years of having these boots I am still thoroughly a fan. After multiple trips, winters, job sites, and strolls down city streets lost and looking for a pub; these boots are the best shoes/boots I have ever owned. They fit like socks and are more comfortable than everything in my closet save my flip-flops. These boots have been to Connecticut, Florida, Spain, England, and everywhere in-between. When October rolls through Virginia and the weather is still in the 70s these bad boys are the things I look forward to the most in the fall lineup. Do yourself a favor and buy em.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Alex Fit great, quality of leather is not great
I've owned several pairs of Made in USA boots from other manufacturers, and these Chippewa boots have below average leather quality. After a few wears, the leather really creases and scuffs up. Also, the heel is too when walking on non-carpeted surfaces. Almost sounds like you've got tap dancing shoes on:)
