Rated 5 out of 5 by Ryan Good cold weather boot
Boots are very comfortable and break in nicely. Provides decent grip in snowy/wet weather and keeps my feet warm. I ordered a 9 and they fit perfect with thicker socks (as a note, I wear a 9.5 in chucks, 10 in vans, 10 in Nike). Overall great boot!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jared Great Boot, Sizing Issues
These boots have a great color and I really love the style. They seem to be very well put together, and I'm sure they would last a long time. Being a boot novice I went on the advice of some other reviewers and ordered a size down. I tried them on and they were a little uncomfortable, but I figured they just needed to be broken in. Unfortunately after a few very uncomfortable uses I can tell you they are just too small. The area your toes sit in is very narrow, and if anything you should order your normal size or a half size up if you plan on using insoles or thick socks. Long story short Chippewa makes a great boot, J Crew did a great job distributing it, but they will be on eBay in the near future if I can't convince J Crew to exchange them.

I received these boots yesterday as a Christmas gift from my wife. She ordered my exact size, 9, and they fit perfectly. They are just a little snug, which is how I prefer new leather boots to fit since they stretch with wear.
Sadly, I have the same problem as the most recent reviewer. The boots I received are not the same boots as this listing. For starters the boots I received are missing the speed hooks at the top. Instead they just have eyelets all the way up. There is also no indication that they are the J.Crew collaboration boots. I am not sure what happened on J.Crews end. They are great boots, just not the ones we ordered.

I was looking forward to getting these, checking the package updates every day because I was so excited. Opened up the box and was immediately dismayed. I will however start with the pros: it's a great looking boot, the leather is solid quality, the color is nice and has an overall good look to it. I loved that it had a loop on the heel as other chippewas dont.
Here are the Cons: No insole?! That's right, no insole. Rather what the designers at J Crew thought would be "cool" is to only put half an insole in. I thought it was a joke at first; the fact that the only insole is on the heel of the boot, but then it's cut off (literally) only to have the arch and the rest of your foot basically be stepping on the base of the boot. If you're going to charge this much, maybe try upping the comfort level instead of trying to be artistic. I even thought about buying extra insoles but realized it would never work because the heel would be too lifted rendering the feet leaning forwards.
