Rated 2 out of 5 by daisy great idea! poor execution/material choice
i so wanted to like this skirt! classic '70's denim, simple & cute button details and seemingly flattering slight A-line fit. unfortunately, they made the very disappointing design/material decision to use stretch denim instead of classic denim. as a result, it looks & fits exactly like stretch denim - instead of the adorable little denim skirt it so could have been! i know this isn't a jcrew design - but even the choice of including this item with this material is an unfortunate and avoidable miss. the 2 stars are for the great concept and jcrew's decision to even consider 'styles' like this. i've been a huge jcrew fan for years. keep those great ideas coming! moving forward, i hope there's more attention and discernment around how materials affect fit and look.

Rated 2 out of 5 by AllJCrew Spanx?
Great style, length, color, but. What happened to the good old fashion denim? Everything denim lately feels like wearing Spanx, including this "designer" denim skirt. I had high hopes. Not a fan, sorry JCrew. Back it goes.

I agree with the other commenters, we all disagree with this fabric. I read the reviews, and I was hoping the stretch would just make the skirt soft. But the stretch makes the skirt cling and then flare, so it fits more like a trumpet skirt than an A-line, which is kind of weird in denim, especially with the buttons. The wash is beautiful though. It could possible work if you have a slim, completely straight build...

As other reviewers have noted, this skirt runs small, and due to its lycra content it ends up stretching over the hip area and then flaring out at the bottom, for a "tulip" look. I ordered up a size and it still looked quite odd and too small- aside from the tulip shape, it pulls at the buttons. Finally, this skirt has *a lot* of lycra in it- I considered swapping it for one a few sizes up, but I don't think it would hold it's shape once it was worn.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SmileBadge Size up!
I’m usually size 24 in stretchy denim, but size 25 in this skirt was too tight and gave me the bell shape everyone was talking about. Size 26 gives me more of A-line so I’m keeping size 26. Size 27 might give me the perfect A-line but it’s sold out. So, you need to size up at least two sizes or more deepening on your body type. I don’t mind all the stretch in this denim skirt.
