We worked with Thomas Mason (one of Europe's oldest and most legendary mills that's been weaving some of the best shirting since 1796) to bring you a selection of its plaids for the first time. Based on our boy shirt, in a beautiful brushed cotton flannel fabric, this tartan style is a definite holiday go-to.

Thomas Mason® flannel shirt in Stewart plaid

Thomas Mason® flannel shirt in Stewart plaid is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes please! This shirt is soft, breathable and well-fitted, with a surprisingly low cost per wear. Keeps me warm without adding bulk. Other reviews mention threads coming out of button holes. Took me 30 seconds to trim them and haven't thought about it since :) After 6 months of dozens of wash/dry cycles, the buttons are still beautiful, intact and fully functional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A perfect introduction This is my first Thomas Mason purchase but it won't be my last. I luckily snagged one on sale as they are pricey, but the quality of fabric and workmanship is superior. This is like no other flannel you have seen or felt, with a fine thread count and the lightest brushing. I am 5'3", 122 lb and ordered a size 8. It fits just right, not too tight, and looks great with jeans or skirts. Love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great - but handle buttons with care The plaid pattern of this shirt is lovely. The fabric has a nice weight (not too thick but still provides warmth). I generally like a looser fit and went with a size 4 (I am 5'8", 127 lbs, size 34 A/B bust). My only issue with this top is that the button holes have strands of thread running through the center of the holes, so the threads get caught on the buttons every time I wear it. I don't want to trim the threads, because it will unravel the fabric (it's obvious when you tug on them). So, I have to be very careful with the buttons. I do love this shirt, but I find this quality issue to be rather disappointing, consider the high price I paid for this top. As such, I'm hesitant to purchase another costly Thomas Mason blouse.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Thomas Mason Flannel Shirt in Stewart Plaid Disappointed. I agree with the first reviewer regarding the loose threads - there is a highly unusual amount in the buttons, button holes (you know when you can't undo a button because it is stuck in a thread? this is for the entire row of buttons), around the neck, at the shirt cuffs, bottom hem, just everywhere. Those I snipped off, but I too am afraid to cut the threads at the buttons. Totally unacceptable for the price. This overshadows the fabric and pattern, which are great, but I cannot give high marks for an expensive shirt that clearly missed the QC department before it went out...and on more than one shirt, which is troubling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality Shirt Love this shirt. The material for the Thomas Mason brand is a heavier weight material and I am hoping it wrinkles less than the other J. Crew shirts. The shirt runs slightly smaller than some of the other shirts. I wear a 6 in the Boy Shirt and can wear a 6 or 8 in the perfect shirt. I sized up and selected an 8 in the Thomas Mason shirt. It is really soft and wears well. I am very pleased with my purchase and the price.
