Finally, a nice and substantial sweater. First, I'll list my gripes: The neck hole, as-is, is quite small. I had to undo some of the shoulder buttons to pull it over my head since I didn't want to stretch it out. Not a huge deal though.
The length also leaves something to be desired. Size XS is 22" long, and S is 22.5" long. I guess I just prefer my sweaters a bit longer, maybe in the 24 - 25" range. Despite this though, the length was fine, not too short.
Now the good -- the color selection. Not many, but I think the available colors are nice, 'navy' and 'wild fire' in particular. I bought this in 'natural'. It's a substantial knit as well, nothing really flimsy and definitely not see-through or sheer even in this lighter color. Not too bulky either though.
The fit, I feel, was pretty TTS, if a bit small. The body fits well and as I would expect. The sleeves might be a bit tight though, especially if you're wearing multiple layers underneath this.
Overall, a pretty nice piece.

I am 5'10". Don't buy this if you're my height, unless you want a crop-top sweater. With my arms relaxed by my sides, it barely reaches the top of my pants. With arms raised, it goes way over my bellybutton. Not the style I want in a winter sweater.
Also, the neck hole is tiny and requires unbuttoning the buttons if you have anything larger than a pinhead.
Hey J. Crew, how about some women's sweaters in Tall sizes?

I was not pleased with this sweater in the least bit. The only thing I liked about the sweater was the knit pattern on the back and front. But I felt like the sweater was way too short. I ordered a size up (Medium) from my typical size (Small) after reading past reviews. I still felt as though the sweater needed about 3-4 more inches on the bottom. I tried the sweater on with my ultra high waist jean (12 inches, they go to my belly button) and the sweater hit just below the top of my jeans. This sweater is more of a cropped sweater than a standard length sweater. But J. Crew does not suggest it as a cropped sweater in the description. I also felt like the neck wasn't flattering in the least bit with the large plastic button on each shoulder. I sent it back.

I have sensitive skin, so I was a little worried that a lambs wool sweater would make me itch, but I loved the style, so I decided to try it out. It's not the softest sweater I've owned, but I wore it all day with a short sleeved vintage tee underneath, and I had no reaction to it. My only real complaint is that it runs a little short for my long torso. I got the medium, which is my normal size from J.Crew, and the hem hits just at the top of my low-rise jeans. It definitely doesn't look as long on me as it does on the model. Just the same I'll keep it, and maybe look for a pair of medium-rise jeans to pair with it. I will also say that the sleeves are an improvement over other J.Crew items lately in that they aren't too tight or too baggy- perfectly proportioned for wearing a button down under if you want or not- and they are the perfect length as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Squash Warm and cozy; fits well
Bought this sweater in size small in the Wild Fire red color. I am 5"6 and small on top. Though as another reviewer noted, the neck hole is a bit tight, the sweater itself fits nicely and is so very warm! Not itchy at all and not too bulky. A great Fall staple for chilly/foggy days. Pleasantly surprised and satisfied with this purchase.
