runs tight in bust, larger in hips. color is lavender, not pink. heavy, bulkier cut and material. stand up collar uncomfortable. looks more cheapily made. what has happened to j crews quality seems to have slipped in years...

Rated 5 out of 5 by FSORI We meet again . . .
Way back around 2005 J. Crew had a basic, classic coat like this. I had it in black, and wore it until it was too sad looking to wear anymore, many years later. Over the years, when I had the opportunity, I'd beg J. Crew to bring it back. This is the closest thing to it, but it a much better design. The cut is feminine and sleek. I love the stand up collar. The fabric is much thinner though. This isn't a northern winter coat (I'd wear something warmer if I had to be outside for too long in the 30's or very low 40's), but it will be fine on those winter days or nights when you're just running from the car to the door, for a museum stroll, etc. I so feel good in this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Borgie My new favourite spring thing!
I wasn't sure what to expect as reviews were contradictory (eg, fabric, fit, style) & this is my 1st Regent purchase.
Antique Blue is a muted cobalt. The colour is saturated. The fabric weight is 'worsted'. It would be too thick to wear indoors (as a blazer) & is slightly lighter than the Hacking Jacket of a few seasons ago. It is suitable for spring/fall (I live in Toronto).
This piece is extremely versatile & would look great over a suit to go to work, as well as with jeans-leggings-leather pants. I will be mixing this with silk scarves, pashminas, cashmere hoodies, t-shirts, silk blouses, light sweaters and almost every pair of pants I own.
The sizing is on the generous side. I ordered a size up so I could fit a denim jacket, sweater and/or suit blazer under it for the transition to spring.
This is the perfect, most versatile piece in my closet which will work in my professional and off-work wardrobes.
I will definitely be purchasing another soon!

I have been on a hunt for a camel topcoat, and since I own the Regent blazer, I had high hopes that the Regent topcoat would also work. Sadly it wasn't the one. The pros - Size P4 fits TTS (I am 36B, 4'11). Body length, and sleeves were all good. The cons - the pleats on the chest were pointy. It didn't lie flat, like the photos online. It was a sewing defect, I think. Also I did not like the cut of the coat from the side, it had definition, and it curved. I wanted the coat to fall straight, like a men's topcoat - masculine. The search for a topcoat continues...

We bought this in black for my daughter, 96 lbs, 5ft 2, in a six P. When it came it was so gorgeous with such a great drape I ordered one in Ivory. We love it, so stunning, comfortable and cut so a sweater or blazer fits under with ease. I am a 6P, same height and weight and the fit is perfection. Also the versatility of this coat is that it is great for work or when dressed up. Looks great with wool drapey pants and turtleneck too or a great scarf. 100% wool is a wonderful value.
