Product Details

Our coat crush: a cozy cocoon silhouette in stadium-cloth wool made especially for us by Italy's Nello Gori mill. Inspired by the fabric used in old-school stadium blankets, it adds warmth without the bulk—and we've been using it in our collection every year since 2006. We also love this style's longer length, sleek topstitching and roomy pockets. Go behind the design.

Petite stadium-cloth cocoon coat

Rated 4 out of 5 by A great coat, but a little small I received the 00P and 0P measurements from J Crew, so I ordered this coat in black in my usual 00P, but found it to be too small across the shoulders. It fit more like a suit jacket and would be difficult to wear over a sweater with any thickness or layers in a cooler climate, like where I live. Going to size up. The fabric is really thick, and the lining is nice and satiny. I quite like the length, which was above knee on my 5'0" frame. The sleeves were also a perfect length, stopping at the wrist. For reference, the measurements comparing the 00P and 0P: 00P: chest (from 1" below the armhole# = 37.5" waist #circumference# = 36.25" hip #circumference from 22.25" below neck along the center back) = 38.5" 0P: chest = 38.5" waist = 37.25" hip = 39.5" September 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Urban Chic!!! I'm so obsessed with this coat!! I had returned another coat in the store and decided to give this one a try. The regular size 6 was too long and so were the sleeves, but the saleswoman had a 6P in back that someone had returned so I got to try it on and it is almost perfect. The only setback is that the sleeves on the petite are at least 2-3" shorter than the regular. But there is enough fabric in the hem to have them let out quite a bit, easy peesy. The length of the petite hits mid-thigh (I'm 5'4) and the body around the chest and armpits is perfectly cut to be form fitting and not too snug. It is warm and you can feel comfortable wearing a regular (not too bulky) sweater underneath. Also, the collar is proportioned well for shorter people. So over-the-moon with this coat! Rated 5 out of 5 by Stylish and versatile This coat is flattering and sophisticated. The fabric is soft and the coat is well constructed. I am 5'4" and the petite coat is the perfect length. September 25, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not as Expected I bought this coat last year in the sandstone and loved everything about it. I'm a bit of a coat fanatic, and was excited to try a new color. Have to say, though, that the new longer length was a disappointment. The proportions seemed off and it just wasn't the same great little coat. Also, I didn't love the heather tiger lily color on me - it was more "tomato" than expected. So, unfortunately, I had to send this one back. September 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great fall coat I started eyeing this coat last year, however it quickly sold out in my size, so I sprang for it this year and am quite happy. I normally get a 6 or 4 in regular sizing, so I initially got the 4P but was finding that the "boxy" fit was a too large for my liking. I ended up exchanging for a 0P, which is slightly form-fitting at the shoulders (I can still lift my arms up with ease) and short at the sleeve (it hits right at my wrist bone), but I am overall happy with it. I would recommend going one size down if you plan on wearing a lot of layers underneath, or two sizes down like me if you're nervous about being engulfed by the fit. I got the coat in Sandstone, which is an excellent neutral color. Truthfully, the zipper is a hassle, however I am the type of person who doesn't zip up their coats very often (I live in Seattle so winters rarely get below freezing). For reference, I am 5' 2" and 120lbs. November 13, 2015
