A lovely classic skirt for work, good quality and the double serge wool perfect for English weather. I bought a petite 00 as I'm 5' 2" and the skirt is still massive, the waistline is huge - 28" - so I will have to take it to the tailors for an expensive re-sizing to 24".

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jcrewlover Extremely disappointed in changes
This is the first time I've ever been so extremely disappointed in the quality of a JCrew item.
The changes between last fall's No. 2 Double Serge and now are in the sizing and the quality of the material. My biggest complaint is the sizing.
I ordered my usual P00 in Heather Sorbet and Dusty Cedar and the waist is only a tad roomier than last year's P00, but the rest of the skirt when compared to my other Double Serge Wool No.2 skirts, is baggy and hanging on my petite frame, especially wide and not form-fitting in the thigh and knees, whereas last year's was comfortably form-fitting, not too tight to be work inappropriate, but snug enough that it gave a great shape. Given the awkward sizing, it would not work to go down to a P000.
I think in part, this bagginess has to do with the material which has a thinner, lighter and more inexpensive look. I expected the warmer, thicker, but soft, high quality wool of last year's version.
I hope no changes occur to the Cotton Twill version.

I got ordered the Petite 0 and it fits very well (5'3", 112 lbs). The skirt is lined and the wool is soft and rich. My only criticism is it is a little hard to walk in or get into a car. And yes, I remembered to cut the strings over the back slit. :-)

This petite skirt fits me so perfectly that I have it in three colours. It looks like it was tailor made for me and I often receive compliments on it. It sits at my natural waist and hits just above the knee. [I'm 5'1'' and 100 lbs and wear the petite size 0. I also have the "regular" non-petite size 0, which does not fit well at all.] The wool is thick and warm, the lining is smooth and the waistband is perfectly stitched. I love the classic cut of the skirt-- never trendy but always stylish. It's also very easy to match with tops and shoes. For professional women, this skirt is definitely worth the price.
The only thing you have to watch for is excessive wear, since all wool will pill or get fuzzy if you rub it against something a lot, ie, a bag with a rough texture.

I ordered this skirt in Heather Acorn and have already worn it multiple times to work. The color is very rich looking in person and goes with everything in my closet. The weight of the fabric, combined with the lining, make it the perfect skirt for cooler temperatures. As far as sizing goes, it runs TTS. I'm 5'2" w/ a 27 inch waist and normally wear a size 4 or 6P. I opted for a 6P because I was concerned about the length and it's perfect. I absolutely love this skirt and am very tempted to buy another.
