Rated 1 out of 5 by CeCe one shoulder is a tricky fit
The look of this suit, if you adjust everything perfectly and hold still, is just darling! The precarious fit puts it in the "look pretty" camp, not a suit you can truly move in.
The long torso worked in the length (5'10", size 2), but the design of the one shoulder/chest seems off. The chest was proportionately too lose/too big and tieing the one shoulder tight enough to "stay," created an unsightly gathered/puckering effect along the top. If I raised my arms up, the top wanted to slide down or shift to the side, and tying the strap any tighter really seemed to strain the stitching (in addition to looking bad). The suit is padded with removable inserts that also slipped around far too much.
It is SO cute but just will not work!

This is literally the first one-piece swim suit I have ever encountered that fit me at all! (I'm five foot nine, 115 lbs, 32B, and I ordered the long torso size 4 in red.) The swim suit is flattering and adorable, and I still can't believe how well it fits. The only downside is that I was a little worried about flashing people - the one-shoulder cut seems rather precarious. I might have felt more comfortable if the top was a bit more snug. I ended up returning it because of this concern, although it was a very difficult decision to make. This would be perfect for someone looking for a swimsuit to lay around and look pretty in, but I wanted something that would stand up to a little more activity.

J. Crew, please make this style every year in every color & pattern! It's a classic as measured by the speed at which they sold out. You asked me to speak up about my thoughts and I am. Are you listening?

I was a little nervous about ordering this suit because of some of the other reviews but I have to say that having it on proved a huge relief. The one strapless side feels a bit funny at first and the top/chest area is a bit loose (a problem I have encountered with every J Crew one piece suit I've had) but I don't actually find the style precarious on me. I tried holding my arms in the air and jumping up and down, even with the single shoulder strap untied, and it took a huge effort to shimmy the top band fully out of place. It might act differently when wet and I certainly wouldn't go swim laps in it but that's not really what one buys a suit like this for anyway. It is perfect for relaxing sunny days or a vacation. I wish all of the colors had been available in long torso (I got the dusty emerald and it is really pretty!) because the overall fit is really nice and flattering and stylish. I can't wait to wear it out. I'd stock up if I could!
