Rated 3 out of 5 by Kristen Too short!
I was very happy to see these chinos as I happily owned several pairs in the 90s. I love the bagginess and the button fly. The main problem is that they are too short. I keep reading things about a "stylish, cropped look" or, with respect to other chinos on the site, "we prefer them rolled to 29 inches." Unfortunately, I would like the choice to roll or cuff them to this length or wear them full length. For those customers who like cropped pants, please continue offering them, but for those of us who like options or who prefer full length, please offer a true Tall sizing. These chinos should have a 33 inch inseam, at the minimum. I also am not thrilled with the little cuts on the side, but I can live with them. Washing the chinos to have a more broken-in, lived-in feel is nice, but the little cuts make the pants less appropriate for home AND work, and I work for a very casual company! Quality is great, but please make these chinos longer! - A loyal customer of 25 years.

I am 5'9" and an 8, I bought these in a 10 Tall so that they would be super comfy - I do roll up the pant legs a bit so they hit my upper ankle. I was looking for regular, plain 'ol khakis - not skinny, not cropped, straight leg, no holes in them - these are impossible to find! The holes (really they are more like nicks) are not too bad in these, though I would prefer no holes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Janet Broken-in Boyfriend Chinos
Broken-in boyfriend chino look great on & have a nice, straight, loose fit. Fabric is heavier & more opaque than other J.Crew chino styles, so pocket linings do not show through fabric. Only wish is that the random small holes in the fabric were eliminated. Guess J.Crew felt they needed holes in the pants to make them "broken-in", but they seem manufactured & phony. Pants would really be better without them, especially if dressing them up for work wear.

I ordered two pair, then ordered another. These chinos are beautifully tailored and look great on. They did not shrink one bit when I cold-washed and line dried them. This is rare, old school quality. I bought these for travel and casual outings and have been trying them on with an array of tops and shoes. Whoever drafted this pattern deserves a hug, as does the classic soul who chose this fabric. This is 100% cotton as it should look and behave. My only small complaint is that you added those cuts. I would order more to put away, but for that detail.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Magpie Good basic chino.
I am 6 ft tall and wear a size 14 so I have tremendous difficulty finding pants that fit and are comfortable. These are close. The cut is flattering and comfortable. They are a tad short since J Crew doesn't offer them in talls, but I can wear them with flats and make them work. If you are drawn to them (as I was) by the photo of the bottoms rolled up, just know that didn't work for me. It looks fine on the model, but in real life the legs are not quite narrow enough to look good as photographed. They are kind of bulky and goofy-looking in my opinion when rolled up. But I will wear them as a basic chino with tees and sweaters and get a lot of weekend use out of them. The only downside (besides the inseam being ideal only for average people) is that the fly is button up. I really wish they zipped. When you are in a hurry, it's easy to skip a button, then it looks like your fly is unzipped.
