Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty but not as tough as regular Smartwool I bought three pairs on sale and I'm pleased with all of them. It makes me happy to see these colorful socks on my feet in the morning. These socks are more delicate than regular Smartwool socks. This is partly due to the very intricate patterns - when you turn the socks inside out you will see many loose little loops. I put the socks on carefully so these don't get caught. The first time I washed a pair a thread became loose and its end poked out. I'll definitely only wash these on delicate from here on. In summary, these are not your regular tough hiking socks even though they are Smartwool brand, but they are soft, cushy, and very pretty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worthy of the price These socks are the best wool socks I've purchased ever, and I live in wintry cold Colorado! The pattern is super cute and shows above my hiking boots, and the toe and heel are thicker so they won't wear through as quickly as others.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice socks; a bit overpriced These are neat socks; in fact, I recently selected them to cheer up my sock-footed airport security ordeal. They are warm enough to wear in boots in the winter, but they breathe enough to wear inside (more so than some alpaca socks I also own for outdoor walking). My only complaint is that some of the threads can get loose on the inside of the sock, so I recommend washing on gentle, air-drying, and putting them on like you would stockings (bunching up and pulling them over the foot to avoid snags).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bummed I thought these socks were adorable when I saw them online so I coughed up the $$$. I received them, and still thought they were adorable--thick and warm--very toasty. Then I noticed that they had little loops all around the heel where the threads had snagged (on what, I have no idea, as they were there when I received them), and I wore them and they began snagging even more. I kept them because it's such a hassle to exchange and return, but I would try the other spendy socks on here if I were you. These were a bit of a letdown.
