Product Details

All of our Wallace & Barnes denim is made the way you'd hope—using only the finest fabrics in the world and constructed here in the USA. The denim for these jeans is woven by the Nihon Menpu mill in Japan, which, when it comes to authenticity, is as good as it gets. Its denim is still crafted on old-fashioned machines by guys who have been weaving denim for decades, so the resulting fabric is the kind your grandfather would have picked up way back in the day. Only difference is, ours probably fits a lot better. Go behind the design of our denim washes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just in Time I ordered the W&B straight in brighton wash a couple of months ago and loved them. I went to order a 2nd pair and thet were all gone in my size. I decided to order these, the raw denim, and they are absolutely perfect. Thick beautiful denim that still crinkles when I walk after 2 weeks, I know these are going to give a great fade when I wash them 6 months from now. I ordered a 2nd pair in my size and it's good that I did because they are now showing out of stock in 34x36. An aside, I have never paid this much for jeans but I have a stack of other brand jeans that I was never completely happy with so I've learned to pay more for what I really want the first time and save money in the long run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Just a fabulous pair of jeans. Fabric is sturdy yet extremely soft. Most comfortable jeans ever, and they look great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Quality, Runs Large I consider myself a denim enthusiast and have to say these are of great quality. I typically wear a 32" (29" tag) in most selvedge denim which is 16" measured across the waist. The pair I received were too large. I recommend sizing down two sizes for a normal fit. I ordered a 32/30 and below are the actual measurements of this size measured with a tape measure. They do indeed have a Chain Stitch hem which is the standard for selvedge denim. Great job with this one JCrew. As all denim enthusiasts know sometimes you have to order a couple pairs to get it right. Not a big deal at all. Hope this helps. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best W&B Denim yet As soon as you pick up this denim, you can feel and see its beauties. It has a great weight to it (guessing 14oz) and from the get-go you can see some great character in the weave. But that’s to be expected, as the selvedge is from Nihon Menpu. I’ve had a few pair of Wallace and Barnes denim and this is definitely the nicest so far. This pair is raw so its been fun to break in. I love the fit of these, but don’t be fooled by the “straight” fit label. These are still pretty slim, although not 484 fit slim. I like the upgraded leather patch- nice touch. Overall, one of J. Crew’s best in-house denim offerings ever. Made in the USA !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for Excellent denim. 100% cotton (no poly or elastane added for stretch), thick enough without being cumbersome or uncomfortable and in a great dark indigo wash that works with just about everything. Sizing ran ever so slightly smaller in the waist but thankfully that worked in my favor as I'm a 35x34 and the W&B 36x34 fit perfectly. As someone who historically never paid more on jeans than half of what these cost, I was most definitely hesitant to spend so much. But if you can hold out for one of J Crew's seasonal sales and get 20%-40% shaved off, I have to admit they're entirely worth the money.
