The New Windowpane Ludlow Suit
What: A suiting pattern favored by leading men, cut into one of our favorite Ludlow styles.
The Story: It had a great run with Clark Gable in the 1930s, but somewhere along the way the windowpane pattern fell off most guys’ radar. Well, now it’s back, in lightweight, breathable wool from nearly 250-year-old English mill Fox Brothers & Company Ltd. Half lined in cotton fabric from famed British shirt maker Thomas Mason®, this suit is finished with a patch pocket on the chest and a two-button closure. It’s the kind of sharp look that wouldn’t have been out of place in the golden age of Hollywood—but we think it looks better in Silver Lake today.
