Denim mini skirt with eyelet hem

I ordered this one size down based on the size recommended by the website and it’s at least one size too big for me. Unfortunately I can’t return or exchange because it was a final sale item so I’ll need to find someone to pass it on to. I gave it 4 stars because it’s so darn cute but runs big.

I tried on the same size I have in jeans and it was completely different. I think the waist and hip proportion is out which is a shame. Had to just forget it as I couldn’t find a combo that worked for me, but if it works for you it’s great quality and a pretty finish. Would be helpful for online purchases if people actually posted the item measurements, not their height and weight. If you know the measurements you can make a more informed decision.

I ordered my regular size 29 but it was too large. Design and quality are good though. The length was longer than I expected.

As others have previously noted, this skirt runs large, especially in the hips/rear. I ordered my typical sz 27 and the waist was slightly loose while the the hips and rear were definitely too big. They "poof" out in an unflattering way. Because of the great quality though (and the good sale price) I'm going to try reordering it a size smaller to see if that solves the problem. The quality is fantastic though and the eyelet trim is a nice detail. I wish J.Crew would come out with white denim shorts with this same eyelet trim as well. Overall, definitely worth a shot but consider sizing down. I'm curvier on the bottom and I think sizing down at least one size (possibly two sizes if you're mostly a straight body type) would work well.

This skirt is soo cute, the eyelet really makes the skirt pop. I wear a 12 and originally ordered the 32, but returned and purchased the 31, perfect fit. I will pair with many summer tops, but i know i twill look cute with the Liberty Amelie top and matching mules I purchased. I highly recommend this adorable skirt.

I love eyelet, was excited to see it expressed in this unique summer skirt. Ordered my usual size 31 and the waist was loose, but the hips and butt area were huge, belling out 2-3" all the way around. Admittedly I am more straight than hourglass and typically over the years, more and more the dresses and skirts I buy from J Crew have more hip space than I can fill, but this was extreme. The good news is, I exchanged for a size 30 and the waist fit great and the hips and butt are only slightly big, which I can live with. The eyelet work is really cute and the denim is substantial, not cheap. The skirt is quite short, I am 5'5 and it falls 3-4" above the knee. That is disappointing because I can't show this skirt off at work, lol. Normally skirts that are short on the website models are just above the knee for me, but not this one. I will be sure to was this beauty in cold water and hang dry as there is no room for shrinkage, and enjoy wearing it for fun times.
