Cashmere sleep mask

Love this cashmere sleep mask so much! Favorite item for myself and as a gift! Hope J. Crew will make this item a staple in its collections. Best sleep mask I’ve ever used.

This sleep mask is great if you are looking for natural materials without those nasty prop warnings. The face side of the mask is silk lined and the front is cashmere, but it is possible to reverse it simply by pulling the band around the other way. There's a thick band of elastic covered in cashmere which fits snug yet comfortable for me. I purchased it in black as I wanted the most darkening I could get.

This isn't a sleep mask meant for everyday use, more of I need some luxury and pampering in my life today kind of sleep mask. It's washable with Woolite, air dry. A band with some elastic would have been a nice touch, but you can get it back to size by washing it. I've worn it a couple of times for naps and I really like it. It's not for industrial use, just when you want to feel special. If the other colors go on sale, I'll buy them too.

I purchased this in the grey and black and the reason for the low rating is a few things. One the band around your head does not have velcro or a sizer. It's basically one size so it will stretch out if your head is big and if your head is small (I'm usually a s/m in JC hats) then it will be loose and will continue to stretch out. The second reason for the low score is the molded cups. This is obviously your basic eye mask. Silk on one side, cashmere on the other. The cashmere is basically a gimmick because you'll never actually touch the cashmere anywhere on your face. Molded eye cups are good for a number of reasons (lash extensions, eye creams), and I actually bulk buy them on Amazon because they're just better. This isn't really washable. You'll have to take care when washing it. And lastly there is no travel pouch to keep it in. I kitted myself out in cashmere for travel. A carrying case would have been nice. I'll try to use my JC jewelry bags and hope it fits.
