Rouje X J.Crew Sirène sweater-dress

Very flattering little black dress. It was sold out in my regular size, so I sized down and it still fit perfectly. It hits a couple inches above my knees so it’s not too short. The neckline is cut kind of low so I would suggest wearing it out casually vs work or a more formal environment.

I really like this unique, romantic take on the little black dress. I love the empire waist and embroidery detail on top. I bought a size xxl. (18) The bust area is quite revealing on my curvy body. While the sleeves are not as tight and cap sleeved as pictured on the model. I am 5’10 so the dress hits a few in. above my knee as well. I would say this dress is tts. This dress will also be easy and fun to accessorize when going out.

This dress is well made and has a romantic cool vibe about it. Has a little personality. I am a size 18/XXL normally in dresses for J.Crew (especially for this Rouje collaboration). I always take a size XL for tops though. I am a curvy tall hourglass. I didn't know how flattering this dress would be on me, but it is a fun flirty dress, and I got it on sale which helped me decide to keep it. The material as mentioned by others is a very substantial and "forgiving", it nicely smooths down the body. I think it would look good on both curvy and petite figures. For me, the dress did not fit me like the model. Which is understandable. The sleeves and neckline were a bit off. The sleeves were not super cute cap sleeves as shown on the model. They stuck out wider and longer. And the neckline on me was not as open and wide as pictured. Most likely my body just doesn't fit the sizing perfectly, which is normal of course. I actually ordered two dresses of this style and they both differed slightly. One being slightly larger. I kept the smaller one. I do think the cotton sweater material will stretch. The bustline is lowcut on me, but flattering. Defiantly flirty and not for the office. Light does filter through the bottom half of the dress I noticed if there is a strong backlight, but it is not something so bad as to wear a slip underneath. And the pretty styled fabric on the bust, does show tiny cutouts of your bra. I personally like it with a skin-colored bra to show the pretty details, but to be more conservative you could wear a black one. Over its a very cute fun dress.

This dress is that perfect little black dress so confortable, you can wear just about anywhere. The empire waist tie and cap sleeves it is darling. Knit is not heavy and has a little flow at skirt.

I get compliments whenever i wear this dress. It is 100% cotton and the silhouette is beautiful!
