Wallace & Barnes lightweight garment-dyed cotton-linen shirt-jacket

Wallace & Barnes lightweight garment-dyed cotton-linen shirt-jacket is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Modern Shirt-Jac. Ideal for minimalists as this shirt-jac is of simple construction. A modern cut made of cotton/linen and is unlined. Would like to see it offered in a solid cotton broken-in chino fabric as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product that’s Misunderstood After seeing some of the negative reviews, I was concerned about what would arrive after ordering this shirt-jacket. I don't believe most people understood what a typical European style Workwear item actually felt like. The way I see it, this item has the weight of what a cafe server's jacket would be; perhaps even a European factory workers. I see these two examples as inspiration for the garment. W&B fine-tuned it by combining cotton and linen for for its light weight and drape. It's great for the Spring over a Ludlow button down and perfect with a tee when it's warmer while working in the AC all day. Pretty unique piece IMHO.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing! I am very disappointed with the quality of the fabric and the cut. It feels more a light cotton without any sense of the texture of linen. The cut is tighter than the usual shirt jackets J Crew has released over the last two years. And the buttons are cheap plastic. Two years ago, J Crew cut a similar jacket in mid-weight linen. That jacket was gorgeous. I was hoping that this one would be somewhat similar. But the current one is a cheap watered down version of the one I bought earlier. Terribly, terribly disappointed!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing material. Not adequately represented The pictures and description made this seems like a rather substantial piece. It is not. The material is so thin I would equate it to crepe paper. Not what I had hoped for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice piece, misrepresented picture The overall style and quality of fabric is satisfactory. However, the button line ups on the picture and the actual item is different: the jacket I received had four buttons compared to three buttons shown on the picture. The button alignments are therefore different as well. Generally, this is a fashionable item with adequate quality, but the pictures does not match perfectly with the actual item. I might have received a defective item, but if this how they are actually made, I have no idea why they would change the button positions or change the style of the product at all.
