INDUSTRY COLLABORATION AND PARTNERSHIPS

J.Crew is a member of the Fair Factories Clearinghouse (FFC), a nonprofit organization that facilitates continuous improvement in workplace conditions through an innovative information tracking and sharing platform. Our membership in the FFC has allowed for improved communication with our internal and external business partners and has made us more effective and efficient in our program operations. J.Crew is a member of Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), an organization for companies committed to socially responsible business practices, and we are proud to partner with them on initiatives that are improving working conditions around the world. HERproject: HERproject is a BSR program that uses a unique peer-to-peer model to educate factory workers, particularly women, about general health and nutrition, as well as reproductive and maternal health. Peer education achieves a greater community reach than traditional top-down approaches and provides leadership skills to workers who become educators. These educators work with factory management to identify opportunities that integrate health considerations into day-to-day operations. At its core, HERproject is designed to benefit workers and factories—a healthier workforce with a better quality of life can reduce absenteeism and improve morale and motivation, resulting in more productive factory businesses.

Since launching in 2007, HERproject has reached more than 250,000 female workers and 25,000 male workers in over 250 factories around the world. Since 2011, we have launched the program at 11 factories in China and Indonesia, reaching over 6,900 workers. In HERproject training session

2011, we were a finalist for an award for Business Action on Health from the Global Business Coalition on Health (GBCHealth) based on our participation in HERproject. For more information on the project, visit herproject.org.

RILA Conflict Minerals Program: We are active members in the Retail Industry Leaders Association’s (RILA) Conflict Minerals Program, a multiyear program that helps retailers navigate the issue and the compliance requirements and find solutions through a combination of educational materials, benchmarking, implementation tools and key partnerships. We are committed to long-term relationships with our suppliers. It is our practice to assist noncompliant suppliers to become compliant with the J.Crew Code of Vendor Conduct. We provide our suppliers with the tools they need to improve working conditions, including training and in-factory consultations.
