The Story

In terms of utility, it's hard to beat pants with extra pockets. Which is exactly why the British military invented a pair shortly before WWII. Cargo pants (or "battle-dress," as the Brits originally called them) featured flap pockets on the sides large enough to carry field dressings, maps and anything else a soldier might need. By the middle of the war, the U.S. military issued similar pants with storage space for extra ammunition. Today they work for keys and cell phones too.

Product Details

Our 770 jeans are cut for a fit that's slim but still easy to move (and sit) in. These aren't the so-baggy-you'll-drown-in-them cargos from the '90s, but even in a more modern silhouette, they still give you more pockets for your stuff. We made this pair in a classic herringbone weave, and it's garment-dyed for highs and lows of color at the seams. Best of all, we added a bit of stretch for the guy who walks or bikes a lot.
