Product Details

Back in your grandfather's day, chore jackets were found on factory floors, in garages and at workbenches everywhere, thanks to their rugged durability and functional design. As it turns out, they're also pretty good-looking. For this one, we borrowed the old-school design, but cut it from superrefined wool (like the kind you'd use to make a suit) from Comero, a family-owned mill in Italy.

Wallace & Barnes chore jacket in Italian wool

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Super thin jacket I was super excited to finally get that perfect chore jacket for the fall and winter months. I had a skiff jacket from the previous years but I ordered this thinking it would be much higher quality and more durable. I ordered it online and when it was shipped to my house, I was wondering if the package actually contained the jacket or if they had mistakenly sent me a pair of lightweight chinos. As I opened the package I realized this was totally not I was expecting. The item is super thin and crazy light. I was half expecting it to be somewhat thicker; maybe not skiff jacket level thick but still fairly thick. What I received felt like a super unsubstantial jacket, almost like a thin overshirt. The item looks okay and fits all right but the thickness killed it for me. If you wanna buy this item, then keep those qualities in mind. I wish they would release a chore jacket that looks like this, but is thicker and made of indigo so that it would fade beautifully but that's just my $0.02.
