Product Details

Made from precision-tailored Thomas Mason cotton, this classic style is inspired by his tuxedo shirt (and you don't have to give it back). One of Europe's oldest and most legendary mills, Thomas Mason has been weaving some of the best shirting since 1796. And just to put that in perspective: George Washington was alive then.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roomy, but classic, and well-made I am in LOVE with the material this shirt is made of. The blouse is very sharp, and eloquently put together with just the right amount of detail. It's a bit roomy; I kept my usual size 2, because I like the kaftan-like fit. The back of the shirt is also long enough to cover the rear-end area (5'6'' and 115 lbs), which is nice, because then the blouse can be worn with leggings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Shirt This is the third shirt I have bought from the Thomas Mason series of women's shirts. The cotton feels divine and it has that over-sized fit that I am craving. It reminds me of a very famous French designer label that is up to 10 x's the price….why not get a similar look at a fraction of the price??? I'm very pleased with the quality, style and fit….please keep offering these types of high quality shirts at J Crew!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Shirt I have several Thomas Mason shirts now. I do appreciate the quality. This shirt tends to run very large. In fact, I should have returned my size 8 for a size 6. I think even with the size 6, I would have had plenty of room. I did wash it and something that I never do, put it in the dryer in hopes it would shrink a little bit, but it did not. I still love it. I did not want this shirt to be fitted either. I do want to mention that it irons great, I love a crisp shirt. I paired it with my radiant orange zipper pencil skirt. It also looks great with my matchstick jeans. If you are deciding about purchasing this shirt, I would tell you to get it, you will love it, just keep in mind the size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Looking Shirt I bought this shirt to wear under one of the new blazers for fall. The quality of this shirt is out standing. While it is an expensive shirt, I feel it has a signature look that stands out as being stylish and different. I noticed it in the catalog and went to the store to see in person. I had to order it twice to get the right size as it runs large.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality fabric As other reviewers have noted, the shirt runs quite large. I am slim but broad in the shoulders (5'11"/128 pounds) and the size 4 is very generous in the body and hangs a bit off my shoulders. The shirt is long, however, tunic length--and this balances the oversized fit nicely. The cuff buttons are high up, leaving a long open cuff below--this is good for a taller frame because it can be left unfolded. For more petite women, you can fold the cuff back towards the buttons and the sleeve length will work well. This is my second Thomas Mason shirt (the first was an elbow sleeve shirt where the sleeve length was not an issue for me). Although this shirt is not sized for a "tall," it will work if you are tall because the cuffs are over-long. Highly recommend. Excellent fabric and sewing!
