Salon coat in Italian double-cloth
We refreshed one of our favorite styles with a slightly more modern silhouette, plus the same polished details you know and love like an insulated lining and a half-belt at the back. But the best part? It's crafted from our signature double-cloth wool, which we've used in our collection every single year since 2001. It takes color beautifully and is made exclusively for us by Italy's Manifattura di Carmignano mill (known the world over for its exceptional woolen fabrics). We also lined it with Thinsulate® to keep you warm through even the chilliest weather.
- 80% wool/20% polyamide shell.
- 100% polyester lining.
- 78% polypropylene/22% polyester fill.
- Item CN075.

What customers are saying:
Many customers love the coat’s vibrant colors, classic style, and overall quality, noting that it adds a stylish touch to both work and casual looks. Many also mention that the coat fits well for layering and in-between seasons, though several customers suggested that the sleeves could be a bit longer. While a few noted that the fabric feels lighter than expected for very cold weather, the majority appreciate its comfort and versatile design. Overall, the coat is seen as a chic, practical choice for cooler days with room for minor improvements in sleeve length.

short sleeves
20 hours agoI bought the green coat but returned it as the sleeves were too short. The rest of the coat fit TTS. I'm 5'8 and I have several J Crew coats in my closet. This coat definitely has a shorter sleeve length. It's also a bit boxy.

Autumn coat for looks, not for warmth
20 hours agoShoulders are too tight. I'm a swimmer so I have slightly larger shoulders, but not that big. I ordered my regular size (10) that was fine in a J Crew parka, even a bit loose. But in this jacket I'd want to try 12 or 14. I cannot wear 10 in reasonable comfort. The fabric is not meant for winter I think, which is what I bought it for. I would say it's strictly for autumn in New England. A bit lightweight for actually cold days, and not padded it seems. From the slim fit and lighter weight fabric, I'd say this is a decorative piece for autumn, not a practical piece for cold winter weather. I ordered 2 and will return both.

The perfect winter coat
2 days agoLove this coat! I’m 5”4, 120lbs and the size 2 fits well with room for a sweater underneath. The sleeves are a touch short but I actually don’t mind that at all. It is very well made and has kept me warm so far in New York 30 degree mornings. I have gotten a few JCrew coats thru the years and I’m never disappointed!

Something a little different
2 days agoIs it my favorite J Crew coat? No. But, it's something a little different so I'm going to keep it for when I want a change from my classic Lady Day and Regency coats. The sleeve length definitely needs to be mentioned, as others have already. I'm 5'-5" and to me, it is not long enough! I get that you can showcase your shirt cuffs, or a pretty bracelet. That can be nice on occasion, but I'm a practical midwestern girl who gets cold easily. Give me at least another inch! Maybe two! The coat could definitely be more fitted through the torso. I'm wearing a heavy sweatshirt today and can more than overlap the button front. It's also a shorter hem length at the bottom of the coat. I'll probably wear it sometimes with jeans or black pants, but it's adorable with a skirt peeking out. I really loved the outfit showcased on the model with with the black coat - and that's the color I ultimately purchased. Overall, I prefer the classic styles, but a little variety is okay. I would love to see the Creme de Menthe and Vivid Mulberry colors next year, with a return to a more classic style.

Beautiful coat but sizing off with sleeves
3 days agoAbsolutely beautiful coat but unfortunately I had to return it because the sleeves were so short I felt like an elf in it lol. I purchased the green color and it was beautiful. I even sized up and the sleeves were still too short however I am 5’9. If your petite this coat is perfect for you!!
