Rated 5 out of 5 by from spunky winter coat I walked into a J.Crew store looking for a cable-knit sweater & walked out with this coat (& its matching skirt) instead! I had been looking for a fun, yet classic coat for years, & even had my eye on the popular Stadium Cloth Cocoon coat for a few seasons but never quite pulled the trigger. Between the quality of the wool & the fun pattern, this coat is exactly what I've been looking for! I especially love the subtle green that runs through the otherwise black & white plaid. It matches pretty much everything which is a nice plus. I have also worn it with the skirt & an ivory sweater & loved how well it completed the look. As far as sizing, I usually order a size 8 in coats so that I can still layer underneath, but I found that the 8 looked too big on me & settled on the 6. The arms are slightly fitted, but going up a size didn't make it any roomier. Every time I've worn it so far, I've received compliments on it, so if you're on the fence, don't be!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and Roomy! I loooove this coat! I wasn't planning on buying it, but when I put it on it looked so great! I'm a size 6-8 in most things, and I bought this in 6. People say to size up, but if left open, the 8 drowns me. I love the 6 closed and open. And, I could fit a blazer under the 6!! Buttoned up and everything. I'm a 34C and the 6 closed. It is definitely roomier in the lower half of the coat, which I prefer - it hides the hips! For reference, I'm a 6 in the chateau parka, 4 in the cocoon coat for a slimmer fit, 6 in Jcrew Blazers (not closed), 12 in the Lady Day coat (I know, right???!) 8 in Martie pants, 8 in toothpicks with stretch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 100% Wool!!! This coat is 100% wool, and beautifully made. Many of the coats in J Crew's arsenal, though they are beautiful, are a nylon/wool mix, but not this beauty...100% wool and nice and cozy. So cozy I got a little sweaty just wearing it around my apartment! Definitely will be perfect for the cold PA winters. It was recommended to me by a J Crew salesperson to size up from my normal blazer size to accommodate sweaters and thick layers, and I have to say I agree. I think if I had gone with my blazer size the arms would be too tight with even a medium weight sweater underneath. I still have just enough room to move my arms comfortably in this coat. Because it is wool, the collar is a bit itchy and might irritate some, but if you wear a scarf in between your skin and the coat that's a problem that easily goes away. I definitely recommend this coat!! J CREW: MORE 100% WOOL PLEASE!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Modern and FUN Classic Coat I just happened to pop into JCrew store and saw this beauty hanging on the wall, I have been trying on various J Crew coats but this one instantly caught my attention by the unique print . I have dark brown hair and it looks awesome with my complexion. It is TTS and often I have trouble with sleeves being too short but this was perfect. I am 5'6" and 125 pounds and wear size 4 coats and that is what fit perfect. The length is a nice mid-thigh length and fits loose so you can layer. I like that it has brass buttons, it sets it off even though I am no usually into brass. It is loose around the waist, and there is no belt so if you want a very fitted coat or belt, this is not for you. The only thing that will keep me on the hunt for ANOTHER coat as well, is that it is a bit lighter in weight than I wanted. The wool is soft but there is no thinsulate or insulation, so I think it is best for milder climates. Its definitely a keeper for me!
