Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect classic slacks I was in dire need of new classic black dress/work slacks that weren't tight black jeans or black leggings! The Maddie pant was the perfect solution! The fabric is beautiful and has more of a fine gabardine feel rather than "wooly" feel..., very comfortable to wear. The pants are well cut and tailored. They have a higher rise and sit just below the waist. They have side pockets that zip up but are so hidden that I didn't even realize they were there when I tried the pants on in the store! The pants have a slim fit and narrower leg and come down to just below the ankle.... really a perfect length for wearing a ballet flat , loafer or kitten heel. I am 5'6" tall and weigh 115 pounds and took a size 2 which fit perfectly. Thank you J Crew for bringing this pant back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High-Rise Slim There clearly mixed reviews of these pants, but I love them. I actually like the high-rise as it's more coverage for work wear. I'm currently 9 weeks postpartum so I sized up to a 2 (standard 00) and plan to have these altered as I size back down. I don't find them itchy at all, but yes, they are a wool pant. They look fantastic with the Rhodes Blazer in Houndstooth for work wear. They don't work with flats, but if you wear slim pumps, they are gorgeous - really elongating your legs. I could probably do with the petite to help with inseam length. Planning to invest in other colors for fall (currently have heather saddle).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really happy with these! I know several reviewers are not happy the pants are unlined, but that seems to be the norm for even much high-priced contemporary clothing. In fact, after trying these on in grey and finding them super flattering, I returned a similar style of unlined wool pants that were 2.5 times the price and ordered a second pair of these in black! As far as fit, they are a nice slim cut, and in size 00 reg, they don't hug my rear and thighs too tightly, and I have a rounder than average rear. The zippered pockets are great too, and something I saw in the higher-end brands. The petite 0 that I tried on did not fit me as well-weirdly relaxed in the hips and tight in the upper thigh and calf, so I opted for 00 reg and will hem.. For reference, I am 5'2", 104 lbs, with long legs for my height. Also, be aware that these are only 55% wool and blended with viscose, which for me is a plus since the tag says dry clean, not dry clean only. Usually that means it is safe to hand wash and lay flat to dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these pants! I have wide hips and athletic thighs. These pants are true to size and keep their shape throughout the day. No diaper butt to be had! Super flattering...so much so that I plan to order a few more pairs. For reference I'm 5'6" 140, small waist, wider hips and large thighs. Size 8 fit perfectly without alterations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fit I have a couple of J Crew's Bristol trousers, which I really like. I decided to try the Maddie pant and I like the fit of these even more than the Bristol. I am 5'3", around 100lbs, and usually get the P00. I purchased the Maddie in black, size 00, expecting to hem them for my height. They're actually just an inch or so too long, very wearable. The over all fit is flattering, with enough room for my backside while still tapering nicely through the leg. The rise is comfortable. I thought I'd hate the zippered pockets, but they're growing on me. I highly recommend them and will likely pick up a few more.
