You asked, we listened: We kept hearing that our cashmere was pilling too easily (because we wanted it supersoft, it was knit more loosely), so we decided to make a change... This new style has been knit more tightly, so it should pill less. The tradeoff is that it might not feel as soft at first, but just give it time. P.S. Hand-washing your cashmere is the way to go, just trust us on that.

Italian cashmere boyfriend cardigan sweater

Italian cashmere boyfriend cardigan sweater is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect classic Love this sweater! It's very soft and I love the fit this year. Not too boxy and perfect sleeve length.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great except for the color Ditto on the neon. The peony looked like a pretty pale pink on my screen, but it's way too bright. I love everything else about the sweater and would have exchanged it for a different color if they'd had my size. Mine was very soft and it was a good weight, not too thin or see-through.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Quality I had bought j-crews boyfriend cashmere before a couple years ago. This sweater is nothing like its namesake. This sweater is very very thin, rough (yes I said rough), and not warm. The cashmere from a few years ago was soft, thick, and very warm. Conclusion: If you are looking for everything you expect from cashmere, look elsewhere. If you are looking for an overly priced early fall cardigan, then this is for you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't feel like cashmere at all If I didn't know this was cashmere you would never convince me. It feels exactly like wool. It isn't soft or plush like cashmere should be, and certainly doesn't justify the cost, even when I bought it on sale. I have J Crew cashmere from 7-8 years ago and the feel and look amazing. Quality of cashmere here has gone downhill for years and unless it changes I will no longer buy cashmere at J Crew. Please fix your quality issue. You are losing customers who want to invest in quality cashmere items that feel luxurious and will last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New edition is better than the last! This new edition of the jcrew staple is much better. Thank you, jcrew! The fabric is thicker, not translucent, cashmere is softer and the cut was improved to be less baggy. However, this sweater runs a size too large now. For years, I bought one of these each season in an XS (I'm 5'5' 115 lbs.), but now I need and XXS and it is a loose fit. But, I am excited that I can buy these again due to the improvements in the design/quality and I recommend them (even though I pine for the superior edition from 2-5 years ago).
