I love this coat (for the most part) but can't get past two stars on the subject of the pleather, plasticky collar and cuffs. I did read reviews before buying and took a chance anyway because of the shape, style, fabric. All of those worked out fine but the pleather is worse than I thought. JCrew -- you can do better. An authentic high quality leather collar and cuff would have made all the difference here. Had you done this right, it would have been five stars. But now that I have a tailoring journey ahead, I'm less enthused. If you didn't want to do real leather, you could have gone for high quality velvet, wool anything but plastic pretend leather. By the way - in response to the reviewer who doesn't understand the "drama" around fake leather -- I can answer that -- it's a quest for authenticity & quality. If you don't agree with leather as a thing, find a quality alternative.

The wool is lovely, so smooth and it doesn’t seem like it will pill. Size wise, I am almost always a P.M (5’0, 30lbs more than I want to be and hips are straight; not hourglass). I took a chance on the PS and it fits as if I had it tailored . It is a beautiful coat, but as others mentioned, it would’ve been nice to have a genuine leather collar. It does not look cheap, though. The other “but” is, I was expecting it to fall straight down and it seems to have an ever so slight flare from about my knee down. However, when I removed the basting stitches from the side vents, I liked the drape a lot better. This was not an instant like, but grew on me and will be a long time love.

I just adore this wool Barn long coat. It is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a black wool coat that wasn’t going to be too big or too fitted. I’m 5’7 and weigh 125lbs. I ordered a medium and it fits perfect. There is a beautiful liner in the coat that is soft and silky. The collar is imitation leather and I’m glad it’s not leather. The coat has nice deep pockets to keep my hands warm. I highly recommend this coat to everyone who likes the look of a Barn coat.

Classic beautiful coat. I’m so in love with it I bought it in all color ways. I hope jcrew keeps bring this one back in non classic colors.

This coat is warm, comfortable and beautiful. The materials feel very nice to the touch.I always get compliments when I wear this coat. I bought it in colors and love them both..

Love this jacket-it can work both for casual and work. I'm 5'4" and it hits just below mid-calf. I took my normal size and I think it will pair well with thicker sweaters. Perfect for Southern weather where cold is relative.
