Heritage cotton sweater in stripe
here again, knit with relaxed saddle sleeves that drape easily along the top of the body and a textured, ribbed stitch in a dense cotton that's simultaneously sturdy and breathable. Inspired by our vintage catalogs, we've adopted the name, "heritage cotton," for this particular fabric. It's easy to wear, comfortable and it looks good with just about everything; the compact knit has a dry handfeel and just the right amount of structure.

Another Sizing Failure
4 days agoWow, y'all really did it now. You screwed up the sizing on the Heritage Cotton Sweater. I own this sweater in nearly every color, in Size Small. But suddenly this version fits like a sack. If I go down to XS, the sleeves will be too short. That is three separate returns I'll be sending back this weekend: 1) my small Merino Wool, that I had to do in XS instead (and might still return it), 2) the Small Heritage Cotton Polo that runs past my butt, and 3) this Heritage Cotton STAPLE, that I can no longer rely on. At least my two brushed wool sweaters still fit properly (for now). I guess your new focus group hasn't screwed that up yet. Seriously guys, why bother with the sale emails, when you can't even hang on to my impulse-buy money? Look at the picture - two J. Crew Heritage Cotton Small sweaters. Knitwear shrinks mostly in length, not width, so this new sweater (on the bottom) will fit like a sack forever. That's why I stock up when a brand is doing things right, because you never know when they're going to screw things up. I'm getting GAP flashbacks now. Have fun sizing whoever you're catering to now...hopefully you won't screw up the summer sizing as well.
