What customers are saying:
The espadrilles have a stylish, versatile design that many customers love for pairing with a variety of summer outfits. Several customers suggested that a brief break‐in period or adding extra cushioning could help with the initial firmness, as the material in some parts feels a bit stiff. A few also mentioned that the straps might feel a bit heavy or narrow, advising consideration of a size-up or additional padding to improve comfort. Overall, the shoes are appreciated for their look and quality, with simple tweaks recommended to make them even more enjoyable for daily wear.

Horrible fit; seem defective
January 11, 2026The only way these could possibly fit is if you have extraordinarily narrow or completely flat (no arch) feet. I can’t get my foot into them at all and have very medium feet width-wise. Admittedly, I have high arches, but I can barely fit my toes under the strap!

Beach/ Summer Shoes
December 30, 2025I love these espadrilles and the overall design and quality feel excellent. They do feel a bit tight across the top of my foot, which makes them slightly uncomfortable at first, but I think they just need some breaking in. They are cute and they feel very well made. Despite the initial snugness, I would still repurchase them because they’re so cute and high quality.

I wanted them to work so badly....
December 23, 2025I wanted to love these shoes so much because they are so cute and stylish. I received them today and unfortunately I should have listened to the reviews. They are so uncomfortable and they literally cut into my feet. The Raffia stitching is very hard & stiff and would make my feet bleed if I wore them more than 3 feet. I wish I had listened to the reviews as these are final sale. I'm so sad… They are so cute but so uncomfortable and impossible to wear.

Uncomfortable and unwearable
November 15, 2025The shoes feel like they're lined with sandpaper and burrs. Unbelievably uncomfortable making them unwearable. J Crew- these should not be final sale.

stiff leather
October 15, 2025These shoes are so disappointing, the leather and sewing is extremely stiff and uncomfortable, they cut your feet, I have worn them around the house for over a month to break them in and they are still hurting my feet. not sure when they can venture outside the house....

Final Sale Regret
September 23, 2025These espadrilles are undeniably cute and stylish, but unfortunately the comfort just isn’t there. The faux raffia material is extremely stiff, so much so that it cut into the tops of my feet and actually made them bleed after wearing. On top of that, the shoes feel quite heavy, which makes walking in them tiring. Because I purchased them as part of a final sale, I’ll try to make them work, maybe by softening the raffia with water or breaking them in over time, but I would not recommend them to others. If you’re looking for shoes that are both cute and wearable, these sadly miss the mark.
