Rated 5 out of 5 by from They walked all over Paris As a last minute decision, I ordered these a few days before I left for Paris. A risk, I know, but my other black knee highs were looking rough/chunky for the Paris trip. I wore them straight out of the box to the airport. The fit is right with a light pair of trouser socks-my usual size 7.5 and i tucked in ponte leggings. With no trouble they made the airport trek, flight, and to AirBNB no troubles, pinches or blisters. I wore them every other day the whole week. I walked miles and miles in them and my feet were fine. The leather is firm not stiff. The heels is a great walking height and held up well. I am going to replace the heels since I wore them down walking the streets of Paris but that's a small price to pay for such a wonderful travel companion. I am 5'2" normal calves, boot height is fine no issues with hitting back of my knee. The boots have broken in well, some wrinkle at the ankle but not unsightly- seems normal to me. I am tempted to get the brown ones too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good boots for the sale price BEST feature is the heel height - 5cm is the best to me and hard to find in North America. Burnished Toffee - lighter than the pics online. J crew really need to work on their pictures. I always check 4-5 monitors (you don't get the right color on cheap monitors) to make sure I understand the true hue. But almost only J crew, I sometimes get it wrong. The color is flat one tone, no depth to the color, like rubber boots one tone. This is probably the reason the boots look cheaper. Pros: - nice shape (slim-straight silhouette) - best heel height, please keep making this heel height - the leather/lining is nice - light and comfy Cons: - bad leather dye, one tone color, no touch up after making boots - stitching is not the best job - raw leather edge is never good - cheap looking heel/sole (the coloring is bad) - a half bottom zipper - maybe too tall for some people I am 169cm (5’65) and great to me

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Okayed by this Leather Snob I love fine handbags, and I expect my shoes to be quality, too. I bought these boots in black and was not disappointed. The leather feels soft and well constructed. I've worn these boots for several days now, and my only quibble is that the zipper flap is going to show wear, I believe. It's thin and already looks a little worn, and I'm concerned the edges may fray. I kind of wish these boots were pull-on style or had a visible zipper to avoid this problem. Regardless, it's SO difficult to find great, classic boots without too much "frippery" on them, and these fit the bill. I found them sized accurately and they are slim on my calves, but still with about 1/2" of room (I'm 115 lbs and do not have overly large calves). And I love the little gold snap detail at the top. Great job, JCrew.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still undecided So, these boots are definitely well made and definitely beautiful. I just received them today and am still undecided but for a couple reasons that do not have to do with the quality or style really. I am 5'4" and the boots might be just a little too tall and too stiff for my height. I haven't decided yet because they may get better with wear but I don't know if I want to commit. I would definitely say this wouldn't be an issue for someone even an inch taller or with longer legs. They are really simple and elegant.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Worth It I purchased the boots in the "burnished toffe" color. Buyer beware they look and feel cheaply made. The boots are certainly not worth the price. I don't normally write reviews but I was very disappointed in the product. I am surprised because the J.Crew boots I have purchased in the past have been fantastic.
