Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Alden classic from JCrew - I love 'em! The longwing is a foundation shoe in a guy's wardrobe - looks great with jeans or chinos and is a classic style. Alden's longwing is an iconic take on the style - they have a lot of presence without being shouty. The color pairs with just about everything. Great for business casual down to casual for me. I make up reasons to wear them. :) The shoes are really comfortable. The Barrie last is fairly roomy - you should definitely go 1/2 down from your Brannock size - but they don't look huge. The leather is really nice, and the finishing touches on mine (stitching, etc.) were perfect in every respect. They required no break-in for me - comfortable from the first wear. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Style. Quality. Durability. These are a great staple shoe. Alden makes an amazing Longwing and these are a perfect non-cordovan option. I've got the cordovan #8 and these, and love both. Use shoe trees, ship them in to Alden or take them to a worthy cobbler when they need to be resoled and you are good to go. I've read some reviews that say they have bought 5 pairs, which makes absolutely no sense unless you drag your feet on cement or wear them in a war zone. I've had mine for 3 or 4 years and they look brand new after being resoled once. The quality and style of one pair of these should last you forever. If you are on the fence, go for it. You will love them, and I guarantee you that you will be complimented on them as I have been many times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy these shoes. If you are reading this, you are seriously considering this purchase. Do it. This is my second pair of Aldens after a pair of Indy boots. These shoes are comfortable from the first time you wear them, no breaking-in required. The leather is buttery soft, yet you wont have to worry about them getting damaged. The brown leather gets more and more beautiful the longer you wear them, be ready to get lots of compliments. They look good with jeans or dress pants; in a pinch, I've even worn them sockless with khaki shorts after the gym. I live in tropical Florida and have put these through plenty of rain events, and the leather dries up just fine, no stains of any kind. Simple maintenance, a regular brushing and some moisturizing cream is all you need for these. Look around, there are no other Aldens with quite the same type of leather. You wont regret getting these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoes I normally do not spend this kind of money on shoes. I was tired of burning through the $150 quality shoes that look nice out of the box but look terrible 3 months later. So I decided to go for it. I am very glad I did. The shoes are great quality and feel. I expect these to last me a long long time. Plus they look great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great investment! This is a great pair of classic, durable, and top quality shoes. Had these for over a year and look like they are new still. They look and fit great and wear gradually (even though Alden offers refurbishment of the goodyear welted sole). They go great with anything (chinos, denim, slacks, and suits) and can be worn pretty much to any occasion. I always get complements when I wear these since people can see the evident style, fashion, and quality. Absolutely happy with these shoes. Don't hesitate to buy it will be a great investment for a pair that will last a long, long time.
