These socks were once the premium no show sock on the market. For those who shop for no show socks, it is common that most others fall short; too big, too loose, they show just a little. J Crew PERFECTED this sock. I bought many.
Several months ago, I visited my local store to buy some more. Dressing for work Monday morning, I was disappointed with what I discovered. The socks had been altered to their now, newer incarnation. The now flimsy socks constantly slide off where the formers stick with you walking, jogging, or running. Please remedy this mistake. The original design with the thicker material and stitching was far superior and could not be improved, but can as we can see, can certainly be ruined. Please let me know when they return so I can purchase some more (and amend my rating).

I agree with a few of the other customers - the previous version of these were superior in basically every way (the thickness of the fabric and the elastic piece especially). The productions run very large and do not hold well to the foot and end up falling off within the shoe and coming out of the sides (uncomfortable and unsightly).
My guess at the change was that the first version may have been too tight for men over size 10 feet, but it would have been a better option to develop two options of size categories and keep the much more functional, previous design.

The socks are too big/loose. They should be offered in more than one size as they run on the larger size. In addition, I would make the elastic a bit tighter to avoid slipping down the back of the foot. In the warmer months a invisable sock is all I wear. I would buy them again but they must be improved in order for me to do so.

The other reviews are correct, J. Crew changed the recipe for these from the version they sold last summer. Last summer's were tighter and the elastic band was thicker. While these new ones are a bit larger and on the loose side, I find they fit better when I wear a more form fitting shoe in the summer months. The back heel does slip a bit, but not egregiously so. Basically I wear last year's version with Converse slip-on sneakers and the like, while these new ones are worn with my Sperry chukka boots and things like that. This new version, since they are larger, don't dig into my foot nearly as much as last year's version, which with a size 11 foot would nearly cut off your blood supply if you wore a form fitting shoe.
