Product Details

Mougin & Piquard might be the greatest watchmaker you've never heard of. (Hint: It's pronounced mooj-awe and peek-are.) Started by the Mougin family in 1852—Piquard joined in the 1920s—the company later shut its doors, and its watches have been collectors' items ever since. Now, thanks to watch authority Tourneau®, this once-defunct brand is back just for us. Based on sketches discovered in the archives, the design resurrects the golden age of watchmaking and references vintage pilots' watches, which were made to fit over the cuffs of aviator jackets. Each one is hand assembled in Switzerland using Swiss quartz movements (and you won't find them anywhere but here).

  • Leather strap.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Great looks, but at a price. I get lots of compliments on this watch. It has a wonderful aesthetic. My issue is with the quality of the face. It is VERY scratch-able. I wear this watch pretty much only when I am at work and weekends, and somehow within the first couple months of owning it, I have a couple of major cracks as well as tons of minor scuffs that dilute the clarity of the face. If the face quality was better, this watch would be amazing. At such a high price point, I would expect it be better. July 30, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Scratch-able Face Looks good, cheap face and leather. At the price point I expected a lot more. August 25, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Looking Watch made cheap I get many compliments on this watch but for the price I paid I assumed it would be of better quality. The face is made of what feels like cheap plastic, very easily scratched. The sec. hand on the clock itself is misaligned with its marks. From a distance it looks like a very nice watch, but once you put it on, the truth is revealed. Should be a lot cheaper. October 20, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor Quality Watch Face I loved this watch and bought it after a month or so of internal debate because of the price point. After purchasing, I could not have been happier with it, but over time small scratches (resulting from minimal contact in an office setting) accumulated on the watch face. Although annoying, I kept wearing the watch. Finally, the delicateness of the watch face was reaffirmed when I accidentally dropped it onto my kitchen floor from no more than 3 feet (fell of my wrist) and the face cracked completely. I don't expect it to be indestructible but for the price, it should certainly be sturdier. January 2, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good Style, Issue with Watch Face Quality As someone else had mentioned the the face of the watch is plastic so it is easily scratched. Over several months the face has picked up a lot of scratches. This would not have happened with a glass face. It is a bit disappointing when you consider the cost of the watch. It is a good looking watch sans scratches. November 6, 2014
