This watch is a lot of fun because it is so customizable. It takes all of 10 seconds to swap in a new strap when you want to change the look.
I'm a big guy, and the watch looks fine on me, but I wouldn't want the dial any smaller. Size-wise, it should look good on any size wrist.
Note that this watch supports interchangeable straps. If you want to buy a strap from someone other than J. Crew, this style (one piece, pass through) is known as a nato-style strap. As long as you're buying an 18mm nato-style strap, you should be good
- Nato-style straps are normally 11" long. You'll have to fold excess length back in on itself every time you wear it. Cutting the strap does not work well
- Nato-style straps are very thin, meaning leather ones look visibly cheap. An alternative is to buy a zulu-style leather strap from another vendor. Zulu-style is a one piece like the nato-style, but thicker, more like a regular leather watch band.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bhuck Just a plain good watch.
I'm a huge fan of the military style watches, and this was my first. I've worn it almost every single day for four years. It's been through Navy Sea Trials and farm work, and everything in between. It's more than worth the money. It can either be dressed up or dressed down, the versatility is a huge plus.

I finally decided to purchase the Timex Army watch, after my house was broken into and my Women’s version was taken…along with all 14 of my J.Crew watch bands. I have very small wrists and worried about fit, but I am able to loop the bands under without cutting them smaller. I love the watch, but wish more options were available for bands.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dolci I prefer the Weekender
(I hope this doesn't violate the rules!)
I was dumb enough to donate my Timex Weekender when I got the gift of an "adult" watch. Of course, in a couple of months, I wanted it back so I started looking for a new one.
I tried this watch at first because I hoped that J. Crew's version would be nicer. To my surprise, I preferred the Timex Weekender proper (which I think J. Crew used to sell?), because it has a cleaner, easier-to-read face, and MUCH easier to see the hands. (I struggle to read the hands on this watch because they are yellow/metal and not black.)
This design also looks less feminine and vintage-y than the Weekender, which were downsides for me, but might not be for everyone. I know the straps are replaceable - but I thought the strap on this one was greener than the Timex proper "olive" color. This seems like a small detail, but the Timex "olive" is a perfect match for my olive skin, so the watch doesn't break the line of my arm.
