Rated 4 out of 5 by A sartorial classic... As a kid who grew up on adventure films and as an adult who loves quality footwear, the Indy boot is a no-brainer. I finally decided to get the J.Crew collab. J.Crew made this purchase easy. Every associate was very helpful and I was so pleased w/ their customer service. The shoes arrived on time and w/ no damage. They were packaged well w/ the shoes and Alden shoe bags in the Alden shoe box all inside a J.Crew box. The boots fit great. I'm a 9.5D on Brannock and ordered a 9 in this shoe. They're very comfy and I'm sure will get moreso as they break in. They're gorgeous and the cork sole is very durable. There are only 2 complaints I have, both minor. 1) The laces these boots come w/ suck and are already fraying. This doesn't bother me bc I usually replace laces on new shoes. 2) There's some minor loose grain creasing. This is a known issue w/ Alden's CXL and is due to Alden not doing properly clicking their leather selections. However, it's very minor and doesn't look bad. July 17, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ok boots Boots arrived with stitching mistakes. Jcrew can't be faulted for that, and were very accommodating during the return process. I will say that this is the 3rd product I've ordered online that didn't look like the featured pic. They look like any other 405 pic online. Heads up there if you think you're getting a unique color chromexcel. That said, if you're used to stiff boots that break in over time, you may not like these. They're so buttery smooth and flexible that they feel perfect right away. Absolutely no break in period. Just wrinkling. I'm off to buy another pair either way. Also buy Venetian shoe cream. I just saved you a lot of research with that. Enjoy! January 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great American Boot Makers I have owned Redwings, Chippewas and Allen Edmonds all of which I am completely satisfied with, but after wearing these Aldens I have a new favorite boot maker. Leather is top notch, with no imperfections, the weld is meticulously crafted and looks beautiful even where it comes together. Fit is a bit larger than my actual size. Most say go down a full size, but with the Redwings it was true, with the Aldens I only needed to go down .5 a size. The insole is sturdy and provides great comfort for long days in the boot. The style of the INDY is so timeless and versatile. Ive worn them with a suit and Ive worn them with jeans while camping and they turn heads everywhere! Buy these boots you will not be disappointed! Rated 4 out of 5 by Alden 405 Indy Boot A good boot that runs about half a size larger then regular sizes. October 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 405 Indy Boots Absolutely love these boots. Best overall pair of shoes I own. But beware: because these boots are so finely made, they have a heavy, bulky feel. But worth it. March 19, 2015
