Rated 5 out of 5 by Agree and disagree with other reviews. I am an honest 5'8" and 155lbs and bought size small. First of all I love the jacket. I decided to try this on in the store before buying because of the reviews. Here is what I found: The "sheen" you see in the pictures, I feel, is accurate. It is not a matte or flat-colored cotton. The blend comes through in person. The shoulders are a tight/slim fit, which I like. It might come out a little towards the bottom (and there are two jacket vents that have snap button closures that you can undo) but I didn't feel it was much. Wish they were more creative with the inside pockets (i.e. size, closures). I tried on a size XS and the sleeve length appeared to be the same but it was just too tight all around with even just a t-shirt on. August 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Difficult to fit Great looking jacket - but difficult to fit. I'm 6"0 and 170lbs. I got a medium, but it's big through the arms and stomach. The shoulders fit right though, and the length fits right. Either this jacket is meant to be worn small and tight, or the sizing is a bit off. I've ordered a small to compare with. JCrew customer service was helpful. May 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Quilted Jacket For starters the Jacket doesn't have that weird shiny look that the pictures give off so don't let that waver you! I wear (in just about anything) a medium/slim medium however I recommend sizing down. I got a Small and love it! fits perfectly! Very warm and great on a grey rainy day. It sits tighter up top on your body and down low widens out so the opening of the jacket (zipper area) sits like and upside down V. August 20, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great look, sizing slightly difficult Just got my Medium coat in the mail, love the way it looks but feeling tight in the arms. I'm 6'2" and 165 lbs, tall and skinny, and normally wear a 40R jacket, maybe 40L. The shoulders fit fine, length is good for the arms and the torso, but I find some tightness in the arms when I bend at the elbow. Any size change recommendations would be most welcome, otherwise I think I will stick with the medium as I think a large would be too big and the tall version too long. August 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice jacket! I'm 5'10" and weigh 180lbs w/ a 32 waist and I bought a size medium and it fits very well. As another reviewer noted, there is much less sheen in real life, which is a very good thing I think. I love the fact the coat/jacket is insulated so it's a bit warmer. The coat/jacket looks great but as others have noted, the construction is a bit shoddy with lots and lots of seams and remnant threading on the inside. The zipper pull is weak and thin and the leather pull-piece was ready to fall off the moment I bought the coat/jacket! Speaking of the zipper and leather pull-piece, I've looked at a bunch of photos and there is a big difference between the 2013 and 2014 Broadmoor. Some reviewers have noted J.Crew "updated" the fit but I've never tried on a 2013 model so who knows. Based on photos, though, J.Crew definitely cheapend the leather pull-piece. November 20, 2014
