Rated 5 out of 5 by rabbit Best chinos out there.
I've been looking for a good pair of chinos for a long while and these are clearly the best I've come across. The quality and the charactor of the fabric is top notch and the color is perfect. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for style was because my hips are very narrow so they are slightly baggy for me there, but this sizing could be a plus for those with an average build. As they are unwashed (even though sanforized) look for about .75" shrinkage in the inseam with cold machine wash and hang dry. I highly recomend them.

I wanted some heavy pants to get me through another long, cold New England winter. I became intrigued by these when I saw the "instructions" on the inside pocket.
These pants are amazing, but require commitment from the owner. They are heavy, and at first - rather rigid. I am about 10 "wears" in, and they keep getting softer.
I like the fact you have to put work into these pants to make them your own. If you are looking for a nice, heavy pair of chinos that you have to "nurture" - then these are your pants.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ATCC the devil is in the detail (good and bad)
stunning selvedge chino made with japanese cotton. it is very rigid at first, almost like the jcrew selvedge jean in raw indigo. it's actually still very hard after the fifth wash! 11.5 oz may not sound like much but it's actually surprisingly thick and solid.
i especially love the reinforced seams for all the pockets when the chino is turned inside out. not something you can see from the outside but you can definitely feel the design team obsessed over every details. bonus points on the military inspired flap pockets as well.
CONS: loose fit around calves, and i have muscular legs. tight / narrow belt loops. this pretty much renders any belts wider than 1.5" useless. the first belt loop on the left hand side is also placed at a strange location (close to center) which further limits the style of belt that can be used. try it on in store and you'll see what i mean as there's a 75% chance you can't put on / place your belt properly, i guarantee it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mcadamsandwich Expensive, but worth it!
Sizing: These do run large, so you’ll need to size down if you want a slim/trim fit. I normally wear a 32x32 in similar brands (vanity sized); I had to size down to a 31x32 to get a similar slim fit. You may need to order a few different sizes to nail the right fit but it’s worth it.
Quality: Overall, great. The fabric is super stiff at first but gets smoother and more flexible the more often you wear it. The plastic buttons leave something to be desired and the stitching that holds them down is questionably weak. I’d recommend reinforcing the button stitching (especially the top button) should yours work their way loose. Everything else is good to go and on par with other similar brands in this niche market.
Value: These pants are certainly not cheap, but the quality that you get is certainly visible and tangible. After wearing these for a few months, I cannot recommend a better selvedge chino on the #menswear market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TheObsessive A trip to 38 Lamb's Conduit Street, London WC1N 3L
I couldn't believe that I was trekking all the way from the Regent's St shop to Holborn for an expensive pair of Chino's. Thank God I did, because when I arrived at the quietly immaculate J Crew shop the superior stock and service was worth the trip. The sales men really know their stuff and we spent a pleasant time discussing clothes. Two months later, after almost continuous wear I think these Chino's are simply the best pair of trousers I've ever bought, I wish I'd purchased a few more pairs.
