Product Details

In the spirit of classic jeans, our designers constructed this style in America using completely raw Japanese denim that, when washed, shrinks to your size. Sizing is difficult, so pay attention: All pairs have a 37" inseam (which is why cuffs were so common in the 1950s). If you DO NOT plan on washing your jeans, select your true waist size. If you DO plan on washing them and are between a 28" and a 33", then size up 2" (i.e., if you are a 28", order a 30") and if you are a 34" to a 36", size up 3". If in doubt, ask a Very Personal Stylist for help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pair of jeans These are great jeans for those looking for a cut that sits below the waist. You have to decide first if you're going to wash them. I definitely wash all my pants at some point so that meant I had to follow the up-sizing recommendation. I have a size 35" waist and long legs- about 37" for jeans- and always wear a belt. I ordered the size 38 and washed them once, no drying. They are now my best fitting pair of jeans. And they taper a bit at the ankle so the extra length sits perfectly over most any shoe. Highly recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sizing Inconsistent, Doesn't Match Directions I really wanted to love these jeans - great construction and styling. Unsanforized denim is tricky to size and wash properly, but my experience with these showed some major flaws in the sizing recommendations and measurements. I normally purchase a 29-30" waist, so I followed the guideline to order 2 sizes up and purchased a 31" label. I followed the initial wash instructions exactly. The initial waist measurement came in at an actual 34". After the first wash the fit was too loose at 32.5". I tried a second wash and was able to get the waist down to 31", but within a day the jeans had stretched back out to 32.5". I decided to try the 30" waist label. I took a waist measurement upon receipt - still 34" inches in actuality. The jeans felt identical to the 31" label pair after following the same wash pattern. If you're a size 33"+, these will probably work for you. Just know they run large and will stretch significantly after the first wash. If you're a 32" or below, look elsewhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Raw Denim So Far I've had other raw denim jeans before, but this may be the best of all of them in my opinion. Granted I've only had them for an hour (which is the only reason why I didn't give them five stars), but right out of the package they are comfortable, cut near perfectly slim, and seem a bit more substantial than others I've had that are actually heavier by the ounce. The rise is a little lower than I expected, but I don't plan on washing these so I'm sure they'll break in a bit and be a little more relaxed in that area. I'm 6'2" 180 lbs, and the 37" inseam is great. Can still cuff them like I want without rolling them halfway up my leg like I'm playing in the creek somewhere. Looking forward to see how these fade.
