Ordered two pairs of these pants in different colors, and the fit noticeably different. The main issues is that the lengths are different. I have to bring one pair to the tailor to be taken up. I have another pair that I have ordered previously and the lengths between the right and left leg are different. JCREW quality control has gone down hill.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BigCalfGuy Definitely Tighter Than Fomer Urban Slim Fit
I used to wear 30x34 Urban Slim fit chinos. From what I remember, those pants had leg opening of 15.5" for a size 32x32 based on my memory and this picture. http://s261.photobucket.com/user/albertbolt/media/urbanslimfit19488.png.html
The new 770 fit has a leg opening of 14.75", which is a significant change. Also, it is much tighter in the thigh. These used to be my staples, but now I cannot wear them anymore. People with skinny leg are most likely not going to notice the difference. However, for people like me who have decent calf and thigh, it's time to say goodbye to these pants. The quality is still great, so I have given a review based on the style and fit, rather than the change that was made.

I've been wearing this exact fit and style of Jcrew pants for what seems like at least 4-5 years and over that time they've basically become a staple for me due to their consistency in fit, finish and style... I've got pairs in half a dozen colors. They're trim without being so trim that they are skinny, comfortable, and still look great with wear and tear and/or wrinkles. My only complaint, and this is minor, is that the inside button at the waist almost always gets to the point of falling off within a dozen or so wears. No biggie though, five minutes of time and some elementary level sewing skills solve the problem.

I'd been looking for a pair of good chinos and I finally decided to try J. Crew's Urban Slim fit since I've had such good luck with their other products. The fit is great; they have a nice slim taper without being at all constrictive. I'm a very active guy so I have fairly muscular legs. The "Broken In" part is not at all over done either. I'm not a fan of the whole distressed thing, but it's subtle and tasteful with these chinos. After a few washes they're super soft and comfortable. They also have the nice little details like the front coin pocket, the slash pockets and the second button on the waist. Overall, great pants for the price. I highly recommend these.

These have long been a staple for my boys - comfortable, stylish and great for dress up, dress down. Just ordered 4 new pair only to find out that they've gone skinny...really skinny! My college age boys said no way and so unfortunately they are going back. On the hunt elsewhere for great chinos...please, please go back to the original style.
