The older T from 2004 had a better fit for the average body type. I believe the present fit is too tapered. I believe the fit of the regular T should be looser at the hips and waist. I cannot imagine there is much difference in your regular fit and what you offer as the slim fit T.
The present regular T is a bit longer than your 2004 vintage. Again the longer length and the tapering at the hem give it a not so becoming fit around the waist and hips for those of us who are not rail thin.
An overall loosening of the regular fit throughout the entire shirt would be ideal.
Thank you for this opportunity to express my concerns.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Micheal Doesn't take long for small holes to appear
I purchased 9 broken-in shirts from the end of last summer til fall. Every shirt but one has a few small holes. What makes this troubling is that I only wore these shirts on the weekends and they started showing up after a few runs in the washing machine. Its really disappointing since I really like how the shirts fit. I imagine it's the result of the "broken-in" treatment since my 2 traditional shirts are still intact, but J.Crew no longer sells tee shirts without some ill-conceived treatment so I'm searching for a new brand.

I have purchased about dozen broken in T's over the past five years, and they have changed. The fabric is flimsy and doesn't even feel like cotton. It is essentially a disposable product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Alan Great fit, questionable quality
I love everything about this shirt, it's not too tight, it's not too baggy, not too short, & not too long.
Imagine how frustrated I am after 3 washes and hang-dries, it's already riddled with holes, and I don't do any physical activity or things that could possibly damage the shirt.
I've had J. Crew t-shirts that have lasted years, this one lasted a month!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Skippy Great Fit, Poor Quality
I purchased a J Crew broken-in pocket t-shirt a few years back. Loved the fit and quality of the garment. That particular shirt is still in the wardrobe. After just two washes of my latest broken-in pocket t-shirts they are not lasting as before. Still a great fit just not as good in the quality department.
