Nicely made shirt that fits pretty well but the fabric is too thin. When wearing an undershirt with it the undershirt shows through. These white dress shirts really should be made 2 ply.

I liked the fit, and the collar however the shirt felt very poor in quality. The cloth was very very thin, wafer thin, and it scrunched up everywhere, the fabric was so light that it just felt cheap. If I wanted something that breezy I would have bought linen. I am really surprised because I usually expect better quality from J Crew, and this did not meet my expectations. I will be returning this, and maybe I'll try the Thomas mason line, but this has put me off the Ludlow shirt. My suit however was excellent.

These shirts are perfect. The spread collar is more natural and my neck is not squeezed when the shirt is buttoned and my tie is on. The fit is excellent and the shirt is overall very comfortable. The extra fabric sewn in at the hip insures that the shirt stays tucked in and is a much appreciated detail, as are the collar stays that come with every shirt. I can assure everyone that these shirts are of great quality. It seems other reviews have said otherwise, but I wear these shirts behind the bar at a very busy restaurant, so they go through what I think is probably a bit more wear and tear than average, and they hold up great, stay tucked in, and remain comfortable in part BECAUSE the fabric is thin. The fact that the shirt is thin does not make it cheap, it makes it breathable and thus very comfortable in every season. The Ludlow shirt feels luxurious to me, the opposite end of the spectrum from cheap. These shirts are worth every dollar.

This shirt is a "must-iron" with which most men are unfamiliar. You have to iron it because it is a real dress shirt.
The fabric is very fine (120s 2-Ply Cotton), which is why other reviewers have found the shirt to be thin. However, it is very soft and has a clean look that "non-iron" shirts cannot replicate in my opinion. Very few stores make shirts this nice anymore.
The fit is quite slimÔÇöslightly tighter through the torso than J.Crew's slim casual shirts. I typically wear a 15.5 / 34 in dress shirts and the medium fits me perfectly.
If there was anything I could change, it would be to move the "Ludlow" tag on the neckline to below the J.Crew label on the yoke. If you wear the shirt with a tie, the tag can get a bit itchy on the back of your neck. You can use a seam ripper to remove it, like I have. It would be nice to see J.Crew move tags off the neckline though. Tags never belong on the neck of a dress shirt.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JCrewDude Nice slim cut but runs a full size too small
The shirt is cut slim, which is nice, but maybe a little too slim and both the collar and the shirt sleeve length run small. Fitting smoothly into 40R Ludlow suit I assumed the medium would be perfect, but it was too small and after washing was obviously a full size too small. This is the first time I have had trouble fitting into a size medium at J.Crew or anywhere else.
