Rated 5 out of 5 by Achilles Just a great shoe (Black Mahogony)
This is just a really good looking shoe. Superior build quality, a solid feel and really nice leather makes it seem like it'll be part of my wardrobe for many years to come. They are fairly stiff when you first put them on but after a bit, they tend to feel better and better. Seems like a quick break-in period which eventually molds to your step. It's a Ludlow shoe so it's not easy on the wallet but you won't be disappointed with this small investment. After all, a good, quality shoe pays for itself over time. They do run a bit large but not by too much. I went down half a size (was wearing the wrong type of socks when I sized them, had to go back and get a different size and the reps at The Galleria location were really great about this). The Black Mahogany color was an easy choice for me. Dress them down with a quality jean or dress them up with a suit. They also come with a nice J.Crew shoe bag for travel which is a nice touch. Definitely one of the best shoes I now own.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Patrick Nice style, poor quality
I really like the wing tip style, unfortunately the quality of this particular shoe is quite bad. After just wearing them twice, the leather began to crack, and I started to hear a "squish" sound every time I took a step, like air escaping from the sole of the shoe. After further inspection I noticed a crack in the sole, where the heal and sole meet. With the price of this shoe, I would expect a lot more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nuke Now You Know A Good Shoe
I bought the Cigar Brown longwing bluchers maybe 2 months ago. At first, they were very comfortable and I could initially feel a very slight difference between these and other shoes at a much higher price. After they've been properly broken in (about a week of daily wear), I swear they are even more comfortable than my coveted cordovan shoes by another popular maker. Something happens to the shoe as it settles down and figures your foot-shape and gate out. They really feel like an extension of your foot. And the color they are fading to.. just gorgeous! I like them so much, I also the Black Mahogany longwings and they are now in their second week of training! Suggestion: more colors please! Cognac or Oxblood would be great. Ooh! And a boot and chukka and a buck.. and...

Rated 1 out of 5 by Josh Poor Quality and Overpriced
The Ludlow wingtips are without question the junkiest, most over-priced shoes I have ever bought. For about the same price, you can get other brands of wingtips that are American made. The J Crew Ludlows are made in China of cheap leather. Mine started to peel after a few months of occasional wear. Also, for reason I don't understand, they set off metal detectors, which is very annoying. These China-made shoes should be $200 at most.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chris High Quality and Very Comfortable
I really wanted a pair of wingtips because of their classic good looks, and something high quality, to replace a pair of dress shoes I've had for about 10 years but had my feet aching by the end of the day. The color is a beautiful rich brown.
I debated between cigar brown and english tan and opted for cigar brown for versatility's sake - they look equally great with a suit, khakis, or a pair of dark jeans. I usually wear a 10 and the 9.5 US size fit me perfectly. They were immediately comfortable out of the box. I've stood for many hours and walked a lot in them over the past month and they are by far the most comfortable dress shoes I've ever owned. The toe box is wider than other shoes I tried, which I like from aesthetic and comfort standpoints.
These are really high quality shoes. J.Crew did a bang up job with these and I envision them lasting many years. By far one of the best purchases I've made recently.
