Product Details

The Ludlow shoe is our version of a bench-made dress shoe, and it's constructed using many of the same methods as the world's best shoemakers. We selected some of the finest leathers from tanneries in Italy and built them with a Goodyear welt, which means you can resole them again and again—so they'll last a lifetime. To ensure they retain their shape, the insole contains a steel shank, which sounds uncomfortable, but it's encased in a soft layer of cork with a Poron footpad on top, which is designer talk for really comfortable.

  • Italian leather upper, lining and sole.
  • Goodyear welt construction.
  • Full leather stacked heel.
  • Import.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my favorite shoes Color in darker brown is perfect, fit a little roomy so it's perfect for my wide feet. Holding up great after months of use. I keep waiting for a sale to buy another pair and stock up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great shoes but... These shoes are really comfortable and didn't take long to break in but it seems as if certain details were skimped on. After six months the stitching on the inner lining is starting to come off and the lining is no longer flush along the heel; the exterior stitching is also coming apart and the shoe laces are fraying. It might seem trivial, but these are pretty expensive shoes...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ludlow Plain-Toe Bluchers I purchased these Ludlow Plain-Toe Bluchers because I already owned an earlier version in black, which I really like. This pair is nowhere close to being as comfortable. The bottom of the shoe is very stylish but is not holding up to the occasional use I wanted them for. After the first day I wore these shoes they looked like they had been worn more often than the black pair I referred to above. I have had the black pair for a few years now. Also, when you are walking in the brown shoes any little piece of gravel you happen to step on sticks into the bottom of the shoe. Not only is this ruining the bottom of the shoe but then you have to listen to a clicking sound as a result until you can remove the debris. I work on a college campus so it is not like I am walking around on a trail or something. For the amount of money I spend at Jcrew and the price I paid for these shoes I am extremely disappointed. If the shoes hadn't looked so worn after the first day I would have returned them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the money Bloody expensive shoes, but oh so nice and ought to become my workhorse office shoe. Mand hoping the last pair I ever need to buy. Expecting to retire before they wear out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great shoes, but you can find cheaper alternatives This dress shoe looks great and seemed to be made from good quality material. The only downside is the price for me at least.
