Product Details

Made from Japanase chambray and finished with a contrast collar, this vintage-inspired version of the Ludlow sportcoat is completely unconstructed—in other words, it's made without any of the internal canvasing and padding that give your suit jackets their precise silhouettes. This also means it's lighter and more casual—it's the kind of jacket that you throw over an armchair (or in your carry-on) rather than put on a hanger.

  • Japanese cotton.
  • Contrast collar.
  • Chest pocket, flap pockets at waist, interior pockets.
  • Nonfunctional buttons at cuff.
  • Double vent.
  • Unlined.
  • Dry clean.
  • Import.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice sportcoat, but runs large This is a very nice, casual and lightweight sportcoat. Unfortunately the sizing is a bit off. I usually wear S in every J.Crew clothing, but this time I had to size down to XS since the sportcoat was a bit long and saggy. If you think you're sure about your J.Crew sizing, think twice and size down! June 5, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Get your normal size! I followed the review to down a size & I'm full of regrets! September 4, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cool jacket a little big and a little sloppy I agree that it runs large. I usually wear a 36S in the lined jackets and bought a small and it still falls a little more off of my shoulders than I would like. Also the fairly large ludlow armholes and baggy sleeves are more noticeable in the unlined jacket than the stiffer, lined jackets. I also agree that the buttons are generic, but what can you expect at this price? Lastly I found that one of the side seams had been stitched out of line where it met one of the side vents, catching extra material and causing a wrinkle/pucker. It was easy enough to take out with a seam ripper. On the good side, it's a cool looking jacket and the material is nice. It's the level of casual-yet-stylish I was looking for. I was worried from the photos that the fabric would be somehow shiny but it's not. Buttons are easy to replace and it was even easy to take in the sides and back for a more fitted look. And watch out, the indigo can bleed. It came through onto my ironing board. October 24, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Thumbs up It looks good and it fits good - especially for guys with average height & weight. Keep up the good work, J.Crew! June 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Attractive jacket that will likely need tailoring Nice casual jacket for the warmer months. The fabric keeps its shape well and doesn't wrinkle easily. It is thick enough to be worn into the early fall, but not much longer. The length of the sleeves and the width at the chest/waist are both our of proportion with the shoulders. I followed the size guide, but had to get it taken in. Luckily the Medium fits my narrow shoulders well, so after alterations it fits great. October 29, 2014
