Product Details

This lightweight version of the Ludlow blazer is made from a cotton shirting fabric (but the fabric still feels "gutsy," like you'd expect of a sportcoat). The jacket itself is completely unconstructed, meaning it's made without any of the internal canvasing and padding that give your suit jackets their precise silhouettes. This also means it's lighter and a bit more casual—think of it as the kind of jacket that you throw over an armchair (or in your carry-on) rather than put on a hanger.

Ludlow blazer in lightweight microgrid cotton

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent Summer Sportcoat I'm 5'9" and 160lbs and the small *just* fits, no real tailoring necessary. The medium size was like wearing a blanket–a couple of inches too long and billowy in the sleeves, and the body of the jacket/chest had a lot of give when buttoned. The fabric is bit more formal and stiff than the model pics on the web site would have you believe. To me, the model at the top looks like he's wearing a super soft sport coat/cardigan hybrid and the actual product is a bit stiffer and more serious than that pic lets on. Overall, seems like a quality piece that's as lightweight and "Ludlow" slim as advertised -- make sure you size down and prepare for some tailoring. June 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by A stylish casual option The feel and weight of the jacket is perfect for the warmer months, though the stock images don't accurately convey the colour. Rather than being a true navy, the jacket is in fact a little lighter with a subtle turquoise check. As for sizing, a 40R Ludlow fits me pretty much perfectly with no tailoring needed. I opted for a Medium in this jacket and, while it is cut slightly boxier than my other Ludlow jackets, the fit works well for somewhat dressed-up casual outfits. For reference, I am 6'2 with a 42 inch chest and a 32 inch waist. July 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simple & Versatile This is a great sportcoat that could work in a variety of situations. It is very lightweight, making it great for summer and spring in warmer climates. The grid pattern is very subtle and only noticeable on close inspection. As advertised, the jacket is completely unstructured and is only lined in the sleeves, which is ideal for a lightweight jacket. This definitely fits the category of "essential navy blazer" that menswear enthusiasts throw around. The fit is snug but still true to size. The 38R fits my frame really well (5'-10", 150 lbs, 38 inch chest). The only part of the jacket I plan on altering is the sleeve length, which is a tad long for me. The sleeve width is perfect and the best I've seen on a Ludlow jacket. Compared to a Ludlow suit jacket I own, this jacket is slimmer in the waist and sleeve width. Overall, a good price for a jacket that could become a real workhorse. July 16, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Unstructured Summer Sportcoat This is a very nice unstructured summer-weight sport coat. The dark blue with microgrid pattern looks great. My two reservations: (a) It has side vents and I would much prefer the classic look of a center-vent style and (b) it is a bit too fitted around the waist and there is little material for tailoring an alteration. Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this sport coat Minimalist in design but still well made. Amazingly flexible: ultra casual, but easy to dress up, too. Good for spring, summer and early fall. My go-to sport coat. October 1, 2015
