Arpenteur, an old French word for "surveyor," takes its inspiration from those men who used to spend their days out and about measuring lands, hills and fields┐and the clothing they wore to do it. Their traditional outdoor gear and workwear pieces are designed in the classic French style (and with the same quality from decades ago), slightly updated with relevant details and a modern fit. The Villefranche (names for the French city renowned for workwear manufacturing) lapel jacket is a contemporary take on the classic unvented chore jacket. Woven in France, this jacket is hand dyed in a natural woad pigment bath (that only looks better with time and exposure to the sun) and finished with Corozo nut buttons. Heavy washing and a peak lapel give the jacket more of a rugged sportcoat look and feel.
